So hey! What's been going on with you guys? Here in the big -riiight- OK, we just got finished mourning. Has anyone else noticed that this week is filled with everything bad? Monday was the VA Tech shootings, yesterday was the OKC Murrah Building Anniversary [12 years], and today is the Columbine anniversary. Oh, and speaking of, the high school that I'm going to next year just got a bomb threat.

Alright, Alright. Moving along.... *inserting short, copy-pasted blogpost starting now.*
Anyways, I've been writing more, but I don't know where I'm exactly headed. Obviously, I'm writing about a major character in the plot -durr-, but the plot itself isn't totally original, though I love it to shreds: WWIII. {they don't call it World War Three --- It's "The Revolution".}
I don't know. I got the basis off of Red Dawn's beginning.

I could start this off by telling you that my name is Melanie James, but I have a feeling that by the time I’m done telling this story, there’s already going to be too many lies to count, so I won’t. Instead, I’ll tell you the basic details about me; the ones that haven’t been marred with some sort of cover-up.
Most people call me Melanie. For everyone else, I go by a name that can’t be spoken or written without government consent, and I don’t think they’d beam with pride if I asked them for permission to state it in something that I’m already writing without their knowledge, and intend, if the war gets any worse, for others to see.
There’s a lot I can’t clearly explain without getting myself in undefined territory. For example, the reasons I’m a straight connection with the government, but live in a unprotected community like any other, why I’m going to a public school that while normal to the naked eye, is actually anything but, or even, if you want to delve down into the minds of the government, which I’m sure, if anyone else reads this, you’ll want to do anways, why they’ve entrusted a seventeen-year-old girl with information that not even parts of congress know.
In fact, I’ve been really contemplating that last secretive fact lately. I guess that when you’re imprisoned in an enemy camp, though, and fearing for your life, no matter what your translator says, you do start to question the things that once were certain.
There’s not five words that could fully embody the characteristics and personality of Melanie James. Sure, there probably was at one time, and I’m pretty certain that there’s many people that could try and come up with some, but I can say without a doubt, that they don’t ring true anymore, except possibly one; traitor.

I know what you mean. The VA tech shooting was...Big. And scary. And bomb threats are also big and scary and dumb. Sometimes it can feel like the world is all bad, that there's nothing good out there. But really, I think there's twice as much good as bad. And we can write about the good. And we can write about the good in the bad. And we can write. That, in itself, is good.
Jeez, I sound like I'm writing a college essay! Lol.
Really, I think we just need a few superhero's. (Just finished watching Spiderman 2) Come on someone, get bitten by a super spider already! WE NEED YOU!!!!

I know how you feel, VA tech shooting was horrible, and I agree with Anna bomb threats are big scary and dumb. Especially when some are just gags to get out of school. I guess when I think of it there are times when you seem to wish Superman or Spiderman exsisted(spidie rocks!).
Anna you are sort of poetic you know that! rofl! But you are right, I find when I write I'm in my own little world and so the ability to write and to block all of the negative but let in the good no matter what you are writing it a phenomanal feeling.(gosh you're getting me down the line I better stop now)
Sheesh it's beautiful out here(some where in the 70s) I was volunteering at 4-H for KCG(Kids Can Grow) today and we were outside most the time and I was just in heaven it's so beautiful out. Course I was also gardening and I love that too.
A tick bite ooooooowwwwww. I hate thoughs! Last time I had a tick lodged onto me was when I was 4 or 5 and it had been strongly attatched on the back of my neck and getting it out KILLED!

I volunteered to paint sets today with five other people, and we had a blast (though I pretty much BATHED in the brown paint...). Ewan McGregor sang to us while we worked, which made it ten times better. [I love Moulin Rouge.]

I feel so victories in one of my LOTR fan fictions I've finnished the next 2 chapters(they will be coming soon!) I had some spare time, I was up in Madawaska Wednsday and Thursday(funeral) so I had alot of writing time, up and back and while there-and a lot of time to see nature! :)

Writer's Block.
UGH. I can't work on ANYTHING, and I'm completely in the mood to write. I had the whole weekend to memorize more lines (or, rather, check up on them) and it was gorgeous, so once I figured that I knew them to pretty much the best that I could, I opened up the laptop, and boom: I couldn't write.

I think by tomorrow it should be gone. School usually bores me enough to drive me to imaginativity. :D
Okay, I have a question for you guys: How do you get both Twilight and New Moon back from a friend after they've read them a month ago and keep forgetting them without beating them to within an inch of their life? Ergg, Argh.

I got bored this morning so I started making a music video-I've made 1 before but the Windows Movie Maker will no longer work for me :( and so I have to use a new program :( and it's confusing and won't let me do the same things so I don't think the second one is as good. I burned the 1st one to DVD and i'm burning the second one now. If I could find a way to get more coppies of the first one I'd give it to you guys(it's of charactors from my book only I had to use movie stars or singers as them) gosh burning to a dvd with this program is SO long....the other one got it done in like 30 seconds*rolls eyes* sometimes I hate new technology...

As to your question, Lauren, I think you should go to said friends house and just steal the book back. After all, it IS yours to begin with. If picking locks is necisary, then so be it. You gotta do, what you gotta do. :)
And, let me just say, WRITERS BLOCK SUCKS!!!! We feel for you L, we really do. Hopefully it's gone by now though, right? You're already in school! ;)
I have had SO much trouble with day dreaming this year, for some reason. Like I'll be doing math, and then I'll just start thinking and doodling, and then I'll look at the clock, and "oh, there goes ten minuted of my math time. Oops." LOL.
Wow, a music video Katie? You ARE talented! I would love, LOVE to see either or both, if you can. I'm really curious as to how you do it. It sounds really cool though!
I'm kind of nervous/scared because I'm going to be painting my room for the first time, and we just bought the paint today. It's light mango colored, very pretty but it's not going to match my curtains or my roses or ANYTHING! Which means I basicly have to redo my room. :O Ah well, it will be an adventure! :D

You know, I've tried to make "book trailers" with movie maker, but it doesn't like me a whole lot, and seriously, unless you hack into myspace, where are you going to find umphteenbillion pictures of the same person in the action shots you need. Sheesh. :)
I'm jealous. I haven't made ANYTHING on MovieMaker before.
And, no, it's not that strange that you've never been in that book situation. I'm weird and have introduced it to at least five friends who all fight with me over Edward (which goes something like this: Her:"Well, I want him" Me: "Uh, no." Her: "WHYYY?" Me: "Because I introduced you two, and I happen to adore him more." Her: "Nuh-UH!" Me: "YES SO." ect, ect.)

YouTube is SO addictive I'm always on it-mostly looking for awesome music videos to watch or listen to(hehe...you should see my favorites list lol.) I'm listening to it as we speak.
I'm fine in math class, my mind doesn't wander to much but when it comes to the homework and going over it with my dad(he checks it with me and such) I have to struggle to keep focussed and not day dream(which I do like constantly!....might be why I write so much.....*thoughtful expression*)
Yeah I'll try to get my dad to let me burn 'em to Cd's you can watch on a computer. The first one of my book is amazing compared to the new ones(two different movie makers) I used to use WindowsMoveMaker but it won't let me do it anymore*pouts* so I have to use a stupid Adobe thingy which doesn't work as well*sighs*

(Final Cut is like, the most proffesional program out there. Not that I'm bragging or anything. Lol) I don't really know how to use either of them, but maybe I could figure it out with my computar oriented sister. Haha. Oh and Katie, do you know how to upload videos onto YouTube? Because that way we could ALL watch them! (Although I know nothing about it, like if you have to pay or what... I dunno...)

Nah, I've never been too much into American Idol. Reality shows don't amaze me that much, but we did watch one last night that premiered called "The Real Wedding Crashers", which is people who WANT their weddings to be crashed. It's hilarious. I might actually like it. :P

Ooh, ooh, school story! For Christmas, I got one of those NaNoWriMo kits (funny stuff), and I put the pin that says "novelist" on my purse to kind of flaunt it around. It's been on there forever, so I didn't realize that it was gone this morning until someone that I didn't know knew I liked to write, handed it to me and said "this is yours, right? I found it in the library."
I grinned like an idiot and said thank you a billion times. :D

Ahem, anyways, I meant to comment again yesterday, but by the time I finished painting my brain was sort of fried. If you know what I mean. In fact, my brain is STILL sort of fried, (I think all the paint got to me... LOL.) Truthfully, my room is now a lot more pink than I had anticipated. I'm not really a pink girl. Oh well. I have some cool ideas for it, so I'm still excited. W00-H00! :)
I just wanted to let you guys know that I don't think having a party or get together or whatever, is going to work this time, sadly... At least not for us. With all the chaos of redoing my room and the fact that it's my sisters birthday on Saturday, I just don't think it will work too well. :( Maybe next time.

Oh Katie, I was wondering how you find pictures for your book trailers. I mean, when you and L were talking about it, I was thinking that you could just use movie stills, but like how do you do it? Do you match up one certain actress with a certain charactor in your book, or do you have to use several differant actresses?
(Is this making ANY sense? You can just ignore it if it isn't. Rofl!)
