It's been a year.
A YEAR.
Holy freakin' cow guys, it's been an AMAZING YEAR.

I can not imagine what it would have been like this year, plowing through my writing all alone, or ignoring it completely. I can not imagine the sad meager pilings of pathetic writing I'd have at this time, if it wasn't for all of you guys. So first off, I would like to say THANK YOU, to all you amazing people for keeping this site alive and making it be so special.

And nowwww, for the reminiscing!
For the past few days I've been spending a remarkable amount of time going back and reading all the posts/comments from the very beginning. I know it's a little dorky, but hey, it's our one YEAR anniversary people, and plus, it was a great procrastination tool. ;)
Anyways, I noticed how things were different in the beginning. (For one, how extremely dorky/awkward I was, but yeah, you didn't hear that from me! :P) I noticed how, get this, we used to not know each other! Like, the comments were so different then they are today! Seriously! And our insane levels were dangerously low, I mean, we were practically sane! :O Obviously, that was fixed a long time ago, but I guess what I'm saying is that it's been a journey. We've grown, and changed together. I can honestly say that I know for a fact that ALL of our writing has improved greatly over the year! What we would have done without our support group, I have no idea!
And yeah, that is what it is now. It's not just a "place for young writers to get together and swap stories!" (which btw, I'm changing.) It's a support group. The way I see it, if you want people to critique your stories, go somewhere else. We're here to make you feel wonderful about your writing, and keep you going.
I guess that can be our official statement.
Haha.
But I have to say, if there is one thing that absolutely DEFINES Writing Rants, it is that amazing poem that amazing girl wrote awhile back. I know you all have read it, but hey, you totally need to read it again.

A long time ago there was a girl named Anna
On who we've bestowed the word 'pants'.
She clicked here and clicked there and all over everywhere
Until she founded the blog "Writing Rants".

This blog was not normal, no, not at all,
Which is probably why this poem's there,
So Katie and Lauren and Keila as well,
Each decided their writings to share.

There were stories of magic, and love, and hate,
and some of them were a hoot!
With Corin, and Legolas, and Jeremy, too,
Reality's nothing -- these guys are CUTE!

It's been almost ten months now since the site was made,
(This is the SIXTIETH post!!),
But no matter how bad our writing gets,
It's you guys that I love the most.

And now.... well guys, it's a New Year!!! And I have some ideas for our future!!!
Of course. ;)
You people know me, I get lots and lots of ideas, some of which are crap and some of which are brilliant. I just can't always tell between the two, so that's what YOU are for! :D

Idea Numero 1: Kelia, you HAVE to write a tune for Laurens poem, and we will all learn it! It's the Writing Rants theme song, remember!

Idea Numero 2: We should all think of some goals for the coming year, in what we want to accomplish in our writing, etc., and post them in the comments.

Idea Numero 3: We should set up some kind of "Board" for WR, where we'd all have official positions, and take votes on everything. Just for kicks, haha.

Idea Numero 4: We SHOULD actually come up with an initiation process for new members (including posting a "Most Embarrassing Story!!" Sorry, I just love that. Muhahahaha.)

Idea Numero 5: (Last one! Promise!) We should start coming up with monthly writing challenges, and if we fail to at least attempt the challenge, then we'd have to be punished. Like, I dunno, have to write all by hand for a week or something. Teehee.

FINALLY- We must all eat something absolutely sweet and delicious to celebrate today! Plus, we are so totally eating these - all of them!!
