Writing rants will not die!

Seriously! I know everyone is really busy and stressed, but Writing Rants cannot die. So I'm posting again even though I posted last.

Because we haven't done a challenge for this month! And I really think we should start doing punishments, because apparently no one other than me and Anna ever does them. Maybe if we threaten you you'd actually do it. This months challenge is easy. You just have to write a letter to the Muse. Example:

Dear Muse,
WHERE ARE YOU?????
Yours,
Kelia

As you see it can be one line long, or however long as you want it. That was not my actual letter. For once, my letter to the muse is happy!

Dear Muse,
I'd just like to thank you so much for that surprise visit last night. It really got me going! It was a bit late, but still, better late than never! And for keeping me enthusiastic about. You know how you sometimes have a great idea in bed, and then in the morning you wake up and its not-so-very-great at all? Well this wasn't like that. So thanks. What would I do without you?

Oh... right... I know.... I'd do what I did last night BEFORE you showed up. Sitting on the couch for an hour and writing a depressing poem is not fun! But you made up for it by coming.
Yours,
Kelia

They're a lot more funny when they're complaining, but since I didnt really have a reason to complain I figured I might as well not make the muse mad.

And.... the beginning of the story! I'm in love with it. Prepare to be confused.

Prologue
The sound of marching footsteps rang through the streets. Heads turned to look as the parcel of guards came around a corner, escorting a young girl. Tanya's face was like stone as she tried not to look at the guards surrounding her, tried not to notice the people watching them curiously.
The gates clanged shut behind them as they left the city, Tanya could hear them locking and barring the doors. They didn't want her back any time soon. It began to drizzle slightly as they moved along the long road, matching Tanya's mood. She felt like crying as the towers of the city got smaller and smaller, as she left a life, but she did not look back. There was nothing for her there.

Chapter One
After half a day of marching, a town appeared nestled around the road. "We'll stop here for the night," a guard told Tanya. "Tomorrow we'll have horses to ride the rest of the way to the border." Tanya nodded mutely and approached the Inn.
Light and laughter washed over her as she stood in the doorway, staring at its oblivious occupants. The guards prodded her on and she went inside, finding an empty table at the back and sitting down almost before the people noticed her. But as soon as the guards entered the chatter abruptly ceased, the Innkeeper made his way forward nervously.
"Can I help you?" he asked, twisting a towel in his hands.
"Just a room for the girl and dinner, please," the lead guard said. "We can sleep in the hallway."
"Of course, of course," the Innkeeper hurried off, giving Tanya a puzzled look as he went. Slowly talk started again, discussions about the war and food prices and such things sprang up. Tanya missed the silence. Silence was always there when no one else was. And over this past week she'd gotten very used to being alone.
But no, she wouldn't think about that now. The door banged as a man came in, dripping with rain. Tanya's eyes widened and she grimaced. An old acquaintance-- just what she needed.
"Good eve, Thomas," The Innkeeper greeted the man as he slid into one of the big tables. "Where you headed to?"
"Home," Thomas replied. "My mum's sick. And besides, there's been some happenings at the castle. I didn't want to stay." he frowned briefly, but then pushed it away. "How's trade been?"
"Eh," The Innkeeper shrugged. "Not the best. No one's very keen to travel, with the war and all."
"Yes." Thomas retreated into his thoughts again and the Innkeeper moved away to serve Tanya. She stared at her food without seeing, her jumbled thoughts whirling around. She didn't know what Thomas would do if he saw her, she didn't know what she would say if she had a chance to explain. Her stomach twisted apprehensively and she pushed the plate away.
A guard bent down to say to Tanya "It's getting late, you'd better get to bed if you aren't going to eat that." Tanya nodded, thankful for the guards kindness. She got up and, accompanied by two of the guards, started up the steps. Halfway up she could caught a slight movement out of the corner of her eye and could feel eyes on her back. She turned her head slightly and her eyes found Thomas's.
Thomas was staring at Tanya, his face full of an expression she'd never seen before. It was unsure and bitter, his eyes full of pain. Tanya stared back, wishing he could read her thoughts and know what she wanted to say. Even if it hadn't been a crowded and noisy room she didn't think she could put her thoughts into words.
Finally Thomas's expression hardened into anger and he looked down. Tanya serruptisiously wiped at her eyes as she walked out of sight and into her room, wishing she could shut the door on all the grievances and mistakes of the world and have one night of rest.

Um... yeah and I have no idea why it's green. POST people!
