Okay, here's some discussion topics for us to talk about.
What is this revising thing I keep hearing about? I mean, I do the editing thing, fix spelling mistakes, grammar and even rework awkward sentences. But what about first and second and third drafts? Do people actually re-write their entire story three times? WHY? HOW? SHOULD I? So, has anyone actually done this? Does anyone know how to do this? Is anyone as baffled about it as I am? Discuss!
What is your motivation for writing? Why do you write? What makes you want to write?
For me, I see all the good books out there. Books are such amazingly cool things. There is so much wisdom and truth in books. There are SO many stories out there! If you think about all the stories out there that have been written down, and then all the ones that haven't, it's baffling! So when I see the coolness of books, of stories, of life, I think I want to add to that. I want to add my story, my little bit of truth. And who knows, maybe I could change a life.
So that's why I write, how about you?

AH. NO.
I don't, at least. Not unless it's an essay for class or something.
[Or, you know, it's going to a publisher. But even then I wouldn't rewrite the whole darned thing!]
I admire the people who can sit down and rewrite like that, but I don't have the patience. It must be a character flaw. :)
What motivates me to write... Nothing, I guess. Nothing that I know of, at least. If I imagine or dream about a story, I want to write it.

hrm I don't rewrite my things that many times but I do, do a first and final draft of course I might get picking and change things-but not the WHOLE thing.
What motivates me too write? Well I never liked writing when I was younger till I met my creative writing teacher and now suddenly I LOVE it I have a really wild imagination which is running constantly so Mystery and scifi and stuff like that is easier for me too write though I can do more normal stuff. Also when I'm writing in the book I want to publish and people like it and want more it motivates me to really want to get it done so people can read it(on book) writing for me is freedom to express myself(sounds like mister rrogers) like art, when i'm doing writing I don't have to worry about anything I'm in my own little world-I tend to find songs that remind me of my charactors that I listen to, to get me into my charactor mode(almost like acting) or sometimes I listen to the radio-basically music helps. When i write I picture myself as my main charactor-basically I am my charactor-so I picture everything more easily and writing it is easier. Sounds nuts I know but for me-it works.
