So I'm currently in the depression state of NaNoWriMo.
But Anna's temporarily talked me out of it.
SO.
I'm going to post part of it, the last part that I've written, and I want you guys to not only suffocate me in loving words (hahaha...), but MURDER MY INNER EDITOR.
And please, ask questions!! IT WILL HELP ME!
(How sad is this: My characters are going to not say hell. So... It's cheesey. Haha.)

“Where are you going to go to college?”
I was caught off guard by not only the question as a whole, but the tone he asked it in. It was wistful and almost longing; not something I would’ve expected to hear from Les.
“I don’t really know. Michigan’s pretty.”
He nodded against my head.
“What about you?”
He smirked, shaking his head.
“What?”
“You know as well as I do that I won’t be going to college, even if I wanted to.” His angel face was drawn into a conclusive, set look.
I stared at him, appalled. “But... It’s not because... You’re going to...”
“I’m not, and I’ve already given in to you once today. Go away so I won’t have to again.”
I smiled at him sadly. “Fine, but even if you don’t, you’ve still got the ability to be great. Just remember that.”
He groaned, and looked at me, annoyed. “Okay, Mom. Go away.”
He hugged me, and I got up, picking up my shoes and sitting on the last couple of stairs.
“So, what’s the verdict?” August came down the stairs, stopping behind me. “He is going, right?”
“Yeah, but he’s not happy about it.” Les retorted. He got annoyed that August didn’t talk to him very much anymore, and referred to him indirectly when she did.
August glanced over at him, scowling. “Well he better get to the car quick, because I’m in no mood to put up with his crap today.”
“Quit!” I said, throwing my hands up. “Let’s just get this over with!”
Both of them were still grumbling as we walked outside, and the tension as we all climbed in the car seemed to simmer in the air.
“Which doctor?” August asked me morosely.
“Weber; Mom’s decided he’s the only shrink we’re seeing now.”
“He’s an idiot.” Les spat.
I took a deep breath. “Don’t we all know it.”
Dr. Jeremy Weber was about as closed-minded as you can possibly get in the world of PhDs. It wasn’t that he concluded that my brother was insane, but that he also wanted to see me, because he thought I was insane too, and that being crazy was hereditary; meaning that August, too, had to be some kind of crazy.
But unfortunately, he’d had some kind of date with my mom, and to get him off her back, she promised him that he’d be able to be her children’s psychiatrist; specifically, Les. He tried to convince her that the rest of us needed to be looked at too, which didn’t work, but also didn’t stop him from trying.
August turned on the radio, but as soon as Les started to sing along with one of the softer songs she liked, she flipped it off, grinding her teeth and looking intently out the windshield.
I just leaned back and enjoyed the silence until we got there, purposely ignoring the fact that Les had once again completely zoned out of the real world.
“Hi, there, Les.” The receptionist, Corrie, said warmly.
He didn’t respond; he was out of it.
Luckly, Corrie had gotten the same greeting the last several times we’d come here, so she instantly moved on and started signing us in.
“You know,” she said, her southern drawl tinged with thought. “I think Les would be a really good boy for any girl if he only talked.”
August froze, looking from the marks she was making on the sign-in sheet to Corrie’s face in surprise. “Corrie, he’s a mental patient who...”
“Lives in his own made-up world?” She laughed. “Ya’ll don’t really believe that he’s crazy, do you?”
August and I exchanged looks, and I shrugged. “It’s been proven more than once.”
She rolled her eyes, pushing her dark hair away from her freckled face, managing to pop her gum while doing so. “Okay, guys. Dr. Weber’ll be out in a few. Take a seat.”
We sat in the orange plastic chairs that the doctor had so generously invested in right along with his new Hummer, I figiting in my seat, August reading an outdated Vogue magazine, and Les laughing gently to himself.
At least one of us was having fun.
“Les,” I whispered, “Who are you talking to?”
He snapped out of his reverie, and frowned at me. “What?”
“Who are you talking to?”
Les snorted. “Right. I’m going to tell you, since you believe me and everything.”
I sighed. “I may not believe you, but remember when you used to tell me stories after Mom got remarried and I would cry until I fell asleep?”
Wearily, he looked at me. “Yeah, I do. But do you remember what I told you about that?”
“That it wasn’t you telling me stories; that someone else heard me crying and wanted to tell me them.” I recited, remembering. “But you repeated them, and talked about the people in them like you were best friends.”
“We are.” He said blandly.
“Oh...”
He sighed, and ran his hand through his hair. “His name is Hart.”
“Hart... As in the thing that beats?”
“I’m sure he means a friend of his, and a very good one at that.” We were inturrupted by a chunky face, scarred with traces of long-ago puberty and accented with wrinkles. A spot of white hair dotted the top of his thick head, and he wore a lab coat that made his brown eyes look darker than they were; etherworldly.
“Hello, Lester; Rowena. How have you been?” Dr. Weber wheezed.
I hated him.
Lester hated him.
Mom just wanted him off of her case.
It wasn’t only that he used my full name, the one which no one liked on me and fit rather awkwardly, but that he used my brother for a test subject, with pills and excersizes that were yet to be approved by anyone of status with my mom’s consent.
“We’re fine.” August hissed. “Can we please cut the formalities and get down to business?”
Weber’s smile slipped momentarily, but he coughed and caught himself. “Okay then, follow me if you will.”
Les stood up and shot me a helpless look as he followed the bulk of a figure into the office. Just as he opened the door to let Les in, he stood back and motioned to August and I.
“Come on in, ladies. I’m required by your mother, and by law, to have family to witness anything I may do.”
“Unfortunately.” I spotted for August.
She looked over at me in surprise, and then turned back to Weber. “Yeah... And according to the law, she’s a minor anyway.”
He shrugged. “Either way, one of you, if not both, is coming in here.”
August started to walk away, and I followed her into the small, compacted room, where we both grudgingly sat on either side of Les, August with her arms crossed and eyes narrowed, me with my hand holding tightly to Les’.
“Alrighty... Let’s see here.” Weber held up a tape recorder that was already running. “Would you all mind stating your names, to assure that you know the drill and are serving as witnesses-slash-patients?”
“August Jamie Carson.”
“Lester Marc Carson.”
“Enna Elizabeth...”
“I’m sorry; I wasn’t clear... Your full name.”
I sighed. “Rowena Elizabeth Carson.”
He smiled at all of us wickedly. “Okay. Now, Lester, how’ve your friends been?”
Les leaned back in the chair, Weber’s eyes probing him as if they could see straight into his mind, full of psychotic delusion and a tiresome imagination.
“They’re fine, as usual, and annoyed that you have to question them tirelessly.”
He laughed heartily. “The feeling must be mutual between you all then?”
“Actually,” said Les, smiling. “I couldn’t care less. It’s seeing you that annoys me, especially since you happen to pose a threat to my sisters.”
I tried to fight back a smile, while a lound grunting noise came from August, who was dying of laughter.
“Girls, girls! This is no laughing matter!” Weber grimaced. “Mockery gets you nowhere, Lester.”
He cleared his voice and tried again. “Can you please discribe what three of your friends have been doing for the last week?”
Les opened his eyes and smiled sarcastically, squeezing my hand. “Sure, whatever you want.
“Kait has spent the whole week doing nothing but ‘boarding because she’s smitten with Hart, who’s spent the whole week trying to figure out what’s wrong with her cluelessly, while Bird is trying to solve not only that problem, but how to get over being blind, like usual.”
He smiled innocently, while two out of three of us stared at him incredulously. August, on the other hand, just laughed. “Everyone loves Hart.”
All three pairs of eyes shifted to her.
“What?”
She shrugged. “Just pretending I understand any of this.”
We all reluctantly fell back into our places in the office, August and I as witness-slash-patients, Les as the actual patient, and Weber as... Well... Weber.
“That’s... a great revelation Lester... and August...” He glanced over at me warily. “Anything you have to add, Rowena?”
“Call me Enna, and no.”
“Really? No?”
“No,” I confirmed.
His forehead wrinkled up, making him look fatter and uglier than he already did, and he shook his head at me, turning back to his target.
“How old are your friends?”
“The same three?”
“The same three.”
He thought about it for a minute, and before he could remark, was inturrupted by Weber.
“Hesitation, Lester?” he asked suspiciously. “Do you really have to think about the ages of your best friends?”
I couldn’t be upset that he asked; I was thinking the same thing.
“Ah, yeah. But list the ages of three random friends of yours without having to think about it before you talk, Weber.”
“Dr. Weber, Lester - Call me Dr. Weber.”
“I’m sorry, Dr. Weber.”
“Much better. Continue.”
“Kait is two months older than Enna; she’s sixteen and three quarters. Bird is seventeen and Hart is eighteen.”
The psychiatrist laughed. “That’s a great little biography; I feel like I already know these characters.”
“They’re real, Weber.” Les said roughly.
“Doctor Weber...”
“I don’t care if you don’t believe me, but I’m serious. They’re my best friends, my worst enemies, and a whole lot of people who, like you, don’t believe in another world.”
“Alright, Lester, now what about...”
“But that’s not all!” Les exclaimed, getting out of his seat angrily. “That’s all anyone ever does – you never hear me out!”
“Les...”
He threw his hands up and walked out of the room, yelling something about being fed up with doctors and sisters.
I followed him quickly, pulling on his arm. “What the heck do you think you’re doing?!”
“I’m walking out! This is too WRONG.”

And Another Door Opens....
How-do all! I know I've posted recently but I had to post again, for several reasons. 1st one, HAPPY NOVEMER/NaNoWriMo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) The second reason is this: Dragon's newest chapter. Where we left off she and her friends had just arrived at hogwarts, finnished eating and were heading to the common rooms when McGonagal brought Dragon to a meeting that went into an accusation fest for Dragon by Dolores, Caroline came to her rescue and brought her to the common room before returning back to the meeting. And here were are :).
Disclaimer: I do not own the original Canon, charactors etc...or any of that junk, they are all the Wonderful work of J.K. Rowling, all I own are MY plot ideas and MY charactors. I'm just a girl who enjoys writing and has too much time on her hands or too much of an imagination-which one it is, is still undecided.
Stuff: 1st There are some spoilers but unless you read the book most of them aren't there so yeah just 'read-at-your-own-risk', 2nd My made ups are my made ups and I'd appreciate that if anyone that I don't know/do know are reading this to PLEASE DO NOT TAKE MY CHARACTORS. They are mine*hugs* I love them and they are close to my heart. Whether or not they are real doesn't matter, they are mine and I love them. 3rd I have some lines and stuff directly from the 5th H.P. book "Order of the Phoenix" in this chapter, I did not make them they are J.K.R's creation and I take no credit, same for the fact that somethings have come from the 5th movie-again I take no credit.

Chapter 4: And Another Door Opens
By: Katherine LaGassie

(tall one is Dean FYI)
I stayed leaning against the brick wall with my arms around my legs and my forehead on my knees for awhile. My right arm hurt so bad I almost began to cry, till I realized how ridiculous it would be to do such a thing over such pain. There are many people who are put in more pain than I am like Carmen, Tonks, Kingsley, The Order and Caroline. What had happened to Caroline? What was going on anyway? I shook my head to clear my thoughts, the pain was clearing my judgment. Dumbledore had to have his reason for telling Umbridge-whatever the reason may be- and Caroline had her reason for being scratched up.
I stood and entered the common room, there; standing like a statue was Ron. His arms crossed and his eyes looking straight into mine. “What did Dumbledore want?” He asked.
I sighed and walked towards him, “He told Umbridge about my dreams.”
“He told her.” I saw the look in his eyes fluctuate to being shocked and back.
“Yeah, I was pretty ticked about it, they tried to get me to confess to it but I didn’t-Caroline came to my rescue when she arrived.” I said and rubbed my forehead, the pain of my arm was giving me a headache.
Ron eyed me, “You alright?” When I just nodded he furred his eyebrows, “Your arm?” He asked and once more I nodded. “Have you told Dumbledore about that?” He inquired as he walked over and reached his hand out towards my right arm.
“No,” I winced in pain, took off my cloak and rolled up my sleeve so he could see the Dark Mark. “I assume he knows, I’m sure Snape would have told him.” Ron nodded as he gently fingered the Dark Mark. “Hey Ron, have you seen Caroline lately?”
“Yeah, she was up here when we all came up. She was helping the house elves clean.” He glanced up at me, “She seems to be beat up pretty good-know how?”
“No, I was hoping you did.” I turned my head to look at him, “I’ve given up mind reading.”
“Pity.” He stood and rolled down my sleeve while smiling, “I like knowing the dirt you can pull up on people that way.”
“I’m not telling you who likes you Ronald Bilius Weasley so don’t even think about it.” I jab my finger warningly in his face.
He rolled his eyes, “Great, now there’s no more fun.”
I sighed and draped my cloak over my shoulders, “What are you doing up anyway? I thought you’d be upstairs with the guys talking or asleep.”
He sat down on the couch, “I was suspicious,” He looked at me and I walked over and sat down beside him. “things have been going on lately,” he eyed me, “I wanted to know what Dumbledore wanted. I wish, however, it was something else.”
“As do I, Ron.” I rested my head on the back of the couch, “Caroline went back to the meeting after she brought me here, she’s gonna try and find out from Dumbledore all that she can,” I stretched and yawned, “I’ll go down in the morning and find out all I can from her before classes begin.”
“Skipping breakfast are we?” Ron asked with raised eyebrows.
“Grab me a piece of toast.”
“Toast, just toast, nothing on it?”
“Jelly, put jelly on it.”
“What about Jam?”
“Ron,” I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled, “Jelly OR Jam, blueberry if you can and then sneak it into our first class.” I yawned again, “What is that anyway?”
“Defense Against the Dark Arts.” Ron said and glanced at me to see my reaction.
I groaned, “Uuhhh…” I got up, “I better get some sleep then.” I kissed his cheek, “Night, Ron.” I got up and ran up the stairs and into the girls dorm, most of the girls were asleep so I quietly changed and sank beneath my covers. The idea of sleep was sounding really good about then, sadly, I wouldn’t see much of a restful one.
Carmen walks up to her apartments front door and presses the buzzer, “Mrs. Jones, it’s Carmen, I left my key inside, mind buzzing me in?” No response. “Mrs. Jones?” She tilts her head and takes her hand off the button, ‘odd’ she thinks. She once again presses the buzzer, “Mrs. Jones?” She sighs and shakes her head, “Must be asleep, this is what I get for allowing Charlie to introduce me to more of thoughs friends of his…” Puts hand on handle and door opens, “….that’s odd….” She pulls sweater closer around her and walks in feeling uneasy, “Mrs. Jones? Are you home? Did you take your sleeping pill already or something?” Still no answer, she glances around placing hand behind her back to take a hold of her wand in her back pocket. She goes down the hall to Mrs. Jones’ room and nocks on the door, “Mrs. Jones?” No answer and the door creaks open. ‘Alright, enough with the little child act,’ Carmen tells herself, lightly presses on the door it creeks open a bit; she then puts her eye to the door crack. There, Mrs. Jones lay on her couch with her eyes closed.
Carmen pushes the door open with her foot and walks in and goes over to the old woman, she gently shakes her, “Mrs. Jones?” No response. Carmen’s eyes travel down the woman and hit the pill bottle clutched in her hands. She unravels the fingers and looks at the bottle. ‘Sleeping Pills.’ She looks at the woman, ‘no breath seems to be coming from her’. Carmen quickly wraps her fingers around the woman’s old wrist to take the pulse. Nothing.
She looks at the bottle again, '28 pills total,’ opens the container, ‘27 inside, she took one pill.’ “One pill is not enough to kill someone.” She places the container down and takes her wand from her back pocket.
Someone’s inside. Don’t go up upstairs.
Carmen walks out of the room and begins walking upstairs. Don’t. She reaches the top of the steps and all the other apartment doors are open. Stop. Turn around. She tightens her grip around her wand and walks down the hall, cautiously looking into each large, open apartment. Don’t go any further. Carmen ducks into the room next to hers, which happens to be the only one with a door closed, and goes into her apartment through a secret back door which leads her to the Kitchen. Get out. She walks over to the kitchen table where she had left her keys, gone. Leave. She looks around the room with just her eyes hoping to catch a sound of something. Now, before it’s too late.
Clank!
Carmen whips around, wand ready her heart pounding out of her chest. “Meow”. She sighs, “Thanks be to Merlin,” picks up the black cat, “just Chester.” She kisses his head and let’s out a breath, ‘just a cat’. No. Not Just a cat. He's trying to tell you to leave. Listen. “Come on Chess,” She whispers and while still holding him and her wand at her side walks towards her bedroom. Too Close. She opens the door and walks in.
Crunch!
“What the-“ She whispers and moves her foot back, she had begun to step on something made of a broken glass. They’re coming. She crouches down and puts Chester down, she then picks up what she was about to step on. It was a picture of her and Charlie talking and laughing at their Hogwarts graduation. You’re in danger. She glanced up her whole room was a mess, torn and thrown apart as if someone was looking for something….or someone….or her. Get out, now, disapparate, something, just leave. She takes her wand out of her pocket and stands up, walking into the middle of the room. Now. Carmen glances around the room, her heart beating hard, something wasn’t right she could feel it, something was wrong in more than obvious ways. A floor board creaked. Behind you! Carmen whips around, “Crucio!” She collapses to the ground as pain wracks her body. Grab your wand and make a patronus.
“Well, well, well, an Aurror all on her lonesome. A mud blood to be specific, how….convenient.” A masked male voice said, four more masked figures created a crescent shape with him, “I thought they thought you better than that, mud blood? Or is the system truly that flawed.”
Now. Before you get seriously hurt, conjure a patronus so someone will help you! Carmen pulls herself up and grabs her wand without the noticing and whispers something, from the end of her wand a unicorn flies. Good girl.
“You fool,” No, you’re the fool. “We have a barrier on this place, not spell will get off the premises.” Some guy says. Dang it. Carmen lay there on the floor face down for a few minutes, looking helpless-to them. They went on rambling about unimportant things, or at least things you don’t try and care about when you are this close to death. Carmen quietly reached her arm out, took her wand out and laid quietly, she had to be careful. “Alright. Up.” One Death Eater said and flicked his wand, obviously trying to use the Imperious curse on her. Carmen rolled her eyes as she got up, a motion unseen due to her long brown hair being in her face. Any Death Eater with half a brain should have realized by now she was far too headstrong for such a thing, however, obviously, these Death Eaters were underexperianced.
Carmen got up carefully seeming as if she WAS controlled, she then kept her back to him for a minute, gripped her wand carefully took a breath and turned. “Petricfus Totalus!”, “Rictasempra!”, “Stupefy!” and several other spells flew from both her mouth and wand till there were only two were standing. Her vision blurred and the toll of the battle began to come aware to her. The two left looked at each other and at her, apparently sensing weakness. “CRUCIO!” Both screamed and once again Carmen hit the floor curling up in pain. Leave her alone!
All of a sudden the pain stopped and she just laid their with her eyes closed for a moment, “Carmen? Carmen, are you alright?” Tracey said all of a sudden falling down beside her. Carmen nodded, “M’fine.” She mumbled as she gathered her strength and began to stand.
Greg quickly grabbed her, “Here, let me help.” Carmen whacked him gently, “Greg, I’m fine.” Charlie stood in the door way arms crossed as he noted the broken possessions of her room. “Oh, yes, I can see EVERYTHING is in order.” His tone was sarcastic and full of concern. Carmen lightly rolled her eyes, “Carmen, the doctor-”
Carmen immediately turned to Tracey, “How’d you know what was going on-they put up a barrier.” Yeah, how did you know?
“Thank Charlie,” Tracey said and pointed to him, “He watched you walk to your apartment, wouldn’t take his eyes off of you. He kind of got suspicious when you were having a hard time getting in, I mean we all knew you forgot your keys-you always do.” Tracey smiled, “Then when you went in we all saw the shield go up and well, obviously that mad us realize something was up so we came in, course it took us awhile to get through the shield. Not a surprise really. Then we came in and realized it was empty, Charlie navigated us to your apartment and well-here we are.” Tracey blinked and turned to look at Carmen, “Where is everyone?”
“Everyone’s either away or at work and Mrs. Jones is dead.” Charlie’s eyes turned immediately to Carmen, his eyes wider than before. Carmen tossed him the bottle of pills from her pocket, “She takes thoughs to sleep, only one a day to sleep-not enough to kill her, it’s a new prescription 28 or 27 pills and only one is missing.” Tracey gasped and Carmen nodded a shuddered running through her, “I hate to say it,” Carmen said and looked at Charlie, “I think this was planned.”
Charlie shifted and bit down hard on his tongue as he fingered the pill bottle. Greg and Tracey glanced at each other it was obvious that didn’t settle well with him. “Come on,” he said taking Carmen from Greg, she looked tired and somewhat ill, and he looked her over, “Let’s get you over to my place and call the…er… ‘cops’…we’ll worry about that later.” He stripped his jacket off and put it on her shoulders. He just did what???
“Muggleborn’s living amongst us as pure-bloods I see,” His red eyes droned out the rest of the scene. “A punishment will be made for such posers. Especially thoughs of my blood, of all things.” I felt every cell of me crawl in odd, sudden fear. He smile appeared on his face, “Perhaps targeting thoughs you love is best-just maybe next time they won’t get away so easily.” I found my heart pounding out of my chest at the thought, he locked eyes with mine, walked forward and placed his long, sharp-nailed fingers on my right arm.
“Dragon! Dragon!” I heard Ginny’s panicked voice as I realized I was being shaken. I snapped my eyes open. “You’re alright!” I heard Hermione say relieved. Ginny looked at me, “You were screaming bloody murder, Meg, you alright?”
I rubbed my neck….I really wasn’t sure. I burned all over from head to toe as if I have been stuck over a fire. Then Ginny touched my right arm. I screamed and her eyes went bug eyed. Athena, Andrew’s girlfriend who had been sitting on her bed across from mine immediately jumped up and ran towards the door, “I’ll get Ron.”
“No!” I said quickly and sat up better, moving away from Ginny’s touch, Hermione, Athena and Ginny all gave me worried odd looks. “I’m fine really-it’s just sore.”
“Athena maybe you should go get Ron just in case…” Hermione suggested and Athena began to move but I shook my head, “No, don’t wake him.”
“Wake him?” Ginny asked.
I looked at her, “Why are you all up at this time?”
Athena gave me a questioning look, “It’s nearly 7, we were finishing dressing and drying our hair when…”
I cut her off, “7?” When Hermione nodded I leapt out of bed, grabbed my clothes and dived under the covers. “Uhh….” Ginny said looking down. “I’m supposed to meet Caroline before classes-chit chat you know, I was gonna study too but seems there’s no point…” I got up and unbraided my hair, “I’ll see you all at classes,” I grabbed my brush, bag and wand and ran out the door leaving the girls to pander my odd behavior. I was nearly out of breath when I ran into the library; it was dead quiet only one or two students reading and barely any other life seemed to dwelling in the room except for one person. Caroline stood behind the librarian’s desk working silently within her own little world. I couldn’t help but smile, the image of the gentle Caroline buried in books wasn’t that hard to imagine. I made my way swiftly to the librarian desk and looked at her, “Morning.”
She looked up at me and smiled, her eyes looking tired but yet joyfull, “Morning,” She wrote something down, “I see you’re up late-everything alright?”
“Yeah, everything’s fine, my alarm didn’t go off that’s all.” I said quickly while regaining my breath.
“Uh-huh.” She said and looked at me again, this time looking worried, “Another dream?”
“I don’t want to talk about it, I really don’t want Umbridge knowing anymore.”
“Hun,” Caroline said leveling eyes with me, “anything spoken between us stays between us-I wouldn’t even breathe a word to the Order.”
I smiled, “Speaking of Umbridge-and breathing words-what happened in the meeting?”
“Good question,” She picked up a stack of books from the cart behind her, “when I arrived Umbridge was as grouchy as ever-no surprise. Saying how much of a liar you were and such, I don’t know I tried to block most of it.” That I understood completely, “Then when everyone left I hung back to talk to Dumbledore, he said he believed the ministry needed to know as they did with Harry because of what the order and he believe.”
“That we’re connecting?”
“Yeah, that. Because of that he told Umbridge. Now he wants you and Harry to take Occlumancy, Dolores also believes it a good idea so naturally everyone who lives in fear of the ministry does. However, you’ll either be taking it from Snape or Dolores, don’t look at me that way, Meygan," I winced at my name, "you know I don’t like them as much as you do.”
“They have it out for my friends and I.”
She smiled, “Maybe so, but I can promise you they aren’t anyone’s favorite people.” She started stamping new books and I glanced at her hands, still covered in the sharp thorn like cuts as if she had taken a dive into a berry or rose bush. “What happened to you?” I asked finally and gently touched her hand. She was silent for a moment and stared down at the piece of paper beneath her before checking off something, “You have a Quidditch game coming up soon don’t you?”
“Yeah…” I replied, she had just completely ignored what I said. She had heard it and ignored it. Why? “it’s next Tuesday...”
“I’m sure Andrew must be ecstatic.” She smiled and glanced up at me before stamping another book, “I think he’s more obsessed with Quidditch than you, your brother, Harry and Oliver.”
“I don’t think that’s possible.” I said with a smile, it was still nagging me she hadn’t answered but I couldn’t make her tell me. Maybe it was Order work she couldn’t discuss, or at least not here in the open. She smiled down at another book as she stamped it, “Probably true.” She remarked as she put that book in a different stack with all the other stamped books, marked something on her paper and then picked up another book. I let my eyes travel a long her desk, there were 4 or 5 letters that had been opened and sealed so they weren’t lost, two open cards that were lying down one had a pack of wicked sisters gum on it (obviously from Tonks) and the other a butterfly pen. “They’re early birthday gifts.” Caroline commented, “From Charlie, Carmen and Tonks.” She nodded to the gum, “From Tonks, for obvious reasons and she knows I like gum,” She nodded to the pen, “That’s from Carmen and Charlie-it’s my patronus and I use pens a lot.” She smiled.
“They sent a birthday gift together?” I raised my eyebrows.
“Well,” She paused, “they live so close to each other it’s less expensive to do it that way-they do the same thing for Christmas gifts.” She shrugged, “Nothing odd.” But she was wrong. I could tell she knew there was more than she was saying; she was hiding more than one thing. Plus, how many people do you know who do that sort of thing? Something was up.
I nodded nevertheless and watched as she started stamping more books and writing stuff on her piece of paper. I glanced at Tonks card-the front was her in her Ministry office-obviously taken by Kingsley or Carmen- acting her normal self. On the inside it said; “I know how much you love gum, Carol, so here’s some-not to mention it’s by THE BEST BAND EVER. ;-)
(We really should all go to a concert sometime-can you imagine that??? Ahahaha!) Have a GREAT birthday Caroline, Love you, Tonks-sie” I couldn’t help but smile as I read it. I then shifted my gaze to Charlie and Carmen’s card. Both laughing and doing the peace sign-something they’d been obsessed with doing when they were in school and younger, on the inside written in Carmen’s old-English styled cursive wrote “Happy (early) Birthday! (I was seriously so afraid I was gonna miss it! Glad we didn’t) So let me continue: Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy (early) BRITHDAY! And done; Happy Birthday Caroline ;-) We both lllooooovvveeee you. And stop fretting, I’m doing fine-seriously-the little incident last night and this darn bug couldn’t old me down if it tried. (Much to Charlie’s dislike)’ Much to Charlie’s dislike? ‘We’re more concerned about you. You take care of yourself (AND find a way to ‘boogie-down’ on your birthday :-P ), stay safe, we love you and of course, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Carmen & Charlie♥’ I furred my eyebrow and frowned, “Incident last night-darn bug?” I looked over at Caroline.
“Oh.” She picked up the cards and gifts and put them down on her side, “Carmen’s just got a nasty flu, and we’ve all been worried sick-just how we are with each other you know.” She stamped another book, “Then last night some death eaters attacked her apartment-” My eyes widened, “she’s alright-don’t worry.”
“I know she is.”
Caroline glanced up, “Another dream?” I nodded and she sighed, “Carmen thought she felt you breathing down her neck-so-to-speak.”
I rubbed my neck and looked around, I wasn’t used to knowing people knew I had seen them not like it was on purpose or anything I couldn’t really help but watch. “Yeah….” I trailed off as I noticed Caroline’s trash can. In it sat an unopened letter, sealed with wax, addressed to her from Percy. I blinked uncontrollably-why would he be trying to write to her? I shot my eyes toward her; she hadn’t noticed me looking at the trash can so I looked back at it, “Percy?” My voice stranged, I was shocked.
Caroline looked up quickly and noticed me looking at the trash can, “Oh….yeah,” She rolled eyes, “That. Ignore it; it’s probably just him gloating.” I looked at her and she glanced up, “You’re parents, nor I need anymore of that. I’m not interested in hearing him gloat or put down your father or mine jobs.” I watched as she pierced her pen harder to the paper. When Percy had begun getting stuck up it had killed her, more than some probably noticed, and then when he erupted at dad it upset her deeply, not to mention when she tried to help Molly patch things up on her own and he completely slammed she and her family down. She was crushed, completely-not something you could think someone would be over Percy but she was. She looked at her wrist watch, “I need to put some things away, we’ll talk later alright Hun?” She looked at me, smiled, grabbed books, came around the counter, kissed my cheek gently and walked off.
Then I did something horrible, I walked behind her desk, grabbed the letter, stuffed it in my bag and hurried to Dolores’s class. What possessed me to take it I don’t know, I seriously, truly don’t know, but I did. I also ran in and sat down in my desk in Dolores’ room just as the bell rang. Both Harry and Ron looked at me, “Nice timing.” They commented and Ron passed me my toast under our long desk and some how I stuffed it in my mouth, chewed and swallowed before Dolores entered. Luckily. “Good morning class!” Dolores said and Harry and I flinched. That stupid shrill of a voice. She walked down the hall watching Harry and I like a hawk, not surprising seeing as we are her biggest threats and all. I heard Nick groan and utter something about the pink and I had to fight off cracking up which eventually made Ron and Harry have to do the same thing. “I understand,” She walked up and turned around to the front of the room. “You have been told that a certain dark wizard at large.” I glanced at Harry and found him doing the same to me, this wasn’t gonna be pleasant, “This, is, a, lie.” Harry and I immediately look at her on that one and I almost wanted to burst out laughing in her face. What was she blind?
“That’s a lie-I saw him.” Harry said and Dolores turned to look at him, “You, Mr. Potter, will raise your hand in my classroom.”
“Harry saw him.” I spoke, my voice must have hissed to her like the sound of Voldemort himself, “Voldemort’s,” Voices rose at his name on my lips, “alive-” I began.
“Ms. Weasley-“ She began to cut me off.
“We would know.” I finished defiantly, Harry was staring at me, shock filling his face, I wasn’t one to typically defy a teacher.
“You are all mistaken, corrupted by rumors that have been proven wrong.” She gave everyone books, “This is what you’ll be learning this year.”
“Professor,” Hermione spoke up after raising her hand and being called on, “there aren’t any spells in this book.”
“Why should you need to learn spells? No one is going to attack children-better yet anyone at all.”
“Yes there is.” Harry corrected, “Lord Voldemort.”
“Detention, Mr. Potter.” Dolores said and Harry sunk into his seat, glaring at her back before she turned, “There is no need to learn such spells if there is no danger.”
I thought momentarily “If there is no danger than why do you have, Aurrors?” Dolores’ eyes shot in my direction, “Well-their job isn’t-” “Their job,” I interrupted, “is Wizard security, they are Wizarding Police, chasing the bad Wizards and stopping them and catching them. What need do you have of them if there’s nothing to be worried about? If a war isn’t erupting? Or if there something you’re keeping from the minds of the public? Is it that denial you are all in after it being quiet so long? Or is there more too it?” I almost went as far as accusing them of being frightened, which they were, but I never got to it, “You can join Mr. Potter in detention Ms. Weasley!” She spoke sharply and quickly continued on before I could interrupt. I groaned and slipped down into my seat, Andrew was gonna love this one, less than a week from a game and both Harry and I had detentions.
“Great,” Harry murmured so I could hear, “detention.” I nodded lightly and rolled my eyes, “Well,” Nick whispered leaning towards Harry and I without being seen, “if you guys live through being locked in a room with Barbie’s worst make-up powder-puff remind me to get her a blue outfit for Christmas so I can see her flip, okay?”
I looked at Nick out of the corner of my eye, “Shut up before I get another detention.” He snorted quietly outwardly, “Then don’t breath too loud,” He sat back in his seat, “Heaven’s forbid you did that, Merlin only knows she’d hang you in shackles for it.”
Harry, Ron and I smirked at Nick’s sarcasm, he had that way about him, his ability to make you smile or laugh at nearly everything-he was like Fred, George, Nathaniel and Lee only a tad bit more-er-sane. “Page 12,” Dolores said and my friends and I rolled our eyes dramatically and followed. I however had one thing I wanted to tell her but told myself internally, I was not doing the homework.
That class seem to go on forever and I was glad when it was time for Transfiguartion, except for one thing, I had to tell Andrew that Harry and I couldn't be at practice tonight. That'd kill him. "Well now," Draco said walking up to me before I entered Transfiguration behind my other friends. "look what we have here, Dragoon." I rolled my eyes, turned and looked at him, "Draco." I said flatly meeting his eyes.
He placed his hand on the brick behind my head and I slid away from him, scrunching my nose in discust. Crabbe, Goyle and Seith, Draco's brother, were immediately surrounding me. It was a daily routine that I was getting tired of. I shoved through them to get to McGonagal's door but they grabbed me, "Not so fast." Draco said and looked at me, "How's the arm?" He asked sinsterly and I just looked at him. "Don't feel like answering?" I tensed, he was one of the few that knew about that. He could so easily tell everyone and my entire family and I's lives would be ruined. "Crabbe, Goyle," Seith said, "help her show us will you?" They nodded and went to rip up my right sleeve, I rolled my eyes and ripped from Seith's grip and whacked them both so hard they didn't know what hit them. I stood looking at them all arms crossed wand in my hand, I was sick and tired of them giving me such a freaking hard time.
Draco laughed smirking, "Touchy weasel?" I nearly charged at him but I didn't get the chance, "Something wrong?" a tall boy with dark brown hair, hazel eyes and a head boy badge said looking between the five of us.
The Slytherin's looked at him, "Not at all." They said and looked at me. "She was getting out of hand."
"Really now," He said and looked in my direction, hiding smirk from his face, "If you don't mind," He slipped around the group and linked my arm in his, "I'll escort he to class to prevent further scawbles." With that he lead me around the group and over to the door.
"Thanks, Andrew," I said looking up at him.
He smild broadly, "My pleasure," He looked down at me as he opened the door, releasing my arm so I could walk in first, "they were giving you are hard time again, huh?" I nodded and he shook his head, "I'm gonna have to give your brothers heck, whose gonna look out for you next year?" He smiled playfully as he shut the door and followed me down to our desk.
I laughed, "I don't know, myself for once?"
Andrew smiled, "Dragon, I don't doubt your power one second or your ability to clonk Draco one but really, you could get far too injured trying to fight them off everyday. I'll find someone to take my place, it's a very had job to hold you know-" He looked back down at me, "your not easy to look out for."
I laughed shook my head and let Andrew slip into the desk next to Harry before I did. "I'm sorry I'm such a hassle."
"What did I miss?" Harry asked leaning foreward so he could see me around Andrew.
"Draco givin' her a hard time." Andrew said taking out his transfiguration book, "Nothin' that unusual." Harry shook his head, it really wasn't. We'd both gotten used to it, niether of us could get through a day without being harrassed by Draco-or well, at least trying to stop him from harrassing some poor first or second year. Such a bully."So," Andrew said placing his wand on the desk and looking between Harry and I, "you guys are coming to practice tonight right?" Harry and I looked at eachother, "right?"
"Well..." Harry began.
"We kind of....uh..."
"You kind of what?" Andrew asked looking at us.
".....Got detention," I said, "with Dolores."
"That witch?" Andrew more so stated and shook his head, "Alright," He sighed and rubbed his neck, "I'll have to work around it."
"Sorry," Harry said, "we couldn't keep our mouths shut the more she put down the idea of Voldemort."
Andrew nodded, unharmed by the usage of the name-he'd gotten used to it, "She is a hard one to listen to, most narrow-minded woman I've met and trust me, I've met a few. I sure wish Lupin or Termdent were back as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher."
"Termdent?" Both Harry and I asked, we'd never once heard that name before.
"Yeah, Curtis Termdent, he was the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher before Quirrell. He works for the Ministry-close to your dad I believe. He was a good teacher, much like Professor Lupin." Andrew said as McGonagal came in.
"Good Morning class," She said and began into an extremely long lesson on how to change living things into non-living things of other creatures. Now you may be wondering why at least on 7th year was in with a bunch of 5th years, that's because he wasn't the only one all 5th-7th years were now condensed into one class room. Which wasn't something my friends and I minded, Andrew was fun and we were all going to miss him terribly when he left.
The rest of the day seemed like a blurr, all I could think about was the dreams I'd been having and my impending doom of detention with Dolores that night. Something I wanted to happen as much as I wanted to be eaten alive by wild bears.
I think you get my point.
I took to sitting by the lake watching the water to kill time, it was still about 3 hours till doom's time by then and I wanted to enjoy as much freedom and tranquility as I could get. "Nice out huh?" Harry said walking up behind me. I turned my head and looked at him, our eyes met and my heart skipped, "Yeah." I said as he sat beside me.
"You enjoy the lake or something?" He asked looking from me to the lake, when I nodded her looked at me, "Want to swim."
My throat dried, "I-uh-er-um...." I found myself fumbling over words, "I...I don't swim."
"Afraid?" Harry asked and I let my eyes go wide, "No!" I said to quickly and he smiled, "Come on," he helped me up and I furred my brow, "What are we doing?" I asked.
He smiled at me, "Going swimming-he can change into dry clothes after." He said, grabbed my hand and stepped in the water, walking out slowly and helping me at the same time. "Don't worry," he said and looked at me, "I won't let you drown."
I smiled, drowning around him was the least of my worries. But I figured while I had his attention, what was the need to let him know that. Soon I felt the ground no longer beneath me and he and I were in the middle of the lake, "Ron's going to kill you for allowing me to swim in the middle of Septemeber, Harry." I said and looked at him, his eyes sparkling in the setting sunlight.
"Eh," He shugged and floated on his back, both of our clothes were soaked and we were both dreading the idea of leaving the oddly warm feeling lake."I'll deal." Harry said and looked at me, "It's worth it to see you smile."
What the heck?
Did I just hear that? Like. Litterally. Did I? Or am I going insane?
I smiled and shock my head allowing wavy locks of red hair to block my face to hide my blushing. I knew he was being nothing more than a friend but I wasn't used to him being so nice-not that I minded it. I liked it, he could be nice 24-7 for all I cared. "Harry?" He looked at me and our eyes locked, "I'm glad you're my friend." I said and he tilted his head, I shook my head, "You used to look at me like I didn't exist and you know it, now you actually treat me human," I splashed him and he smiled, "Without being jerkish too. I appreciate it."
"I really don't know what came over me in 4th year, Dragon, I was a jerk, I never should have been like that to you. You didn't deserve it. You were just trying to be nice....I really am sorry about that." Harry said looking at me, surprisingly looking earnstly sorry.
I smiled and hugged him, "No more appologies for that." I said and let go diving under water and splashing him so he'd follow. He did. He grabbed my leg pulled me towards him and brought both of us up, we were both laughing hysterically-for absolutly NO reason.
"We should go in an change," He said after we finnished laughing, "We're soaking wet," he said fingering my sopping red hair, "besides it's nearly detention time." I groaned and allowed myself to slip under the water again, an arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me up, "Dragon," He teased and I smiled, "As much as we both hate it we have detention."
"I know," I said and moved my hair from my face. His arm was still aroud my waist. "Let's go." I said suddenly feel ackward being so close to him...not to mention his his arms. With that he released me and we both swam back to the edge of the lake and he helped me out. Both of us freezing in the night wind.
"Hey, Meygan," I scrunched my nose, "That is your name." He pointed out and I muttered 'I know' causing him to smile, "Can I ask you something?"
I looked at him, "Of course, Harry, you can ask me anything, shoot."
Harry put his hands in his empty pockets, "You're a girl,"
I raised both eyebrows, "Yes, yes I am."
He smiled, "Well...I figured you'd be the best to know....how do you....ask someone out."
I raised my eyebrows again, why the heck was he asking me? I'd never had a boyfriend, "What?"
"I know, it's a stupid question but like-do you know?"
"Do you have someone you want to ask out or something?" I asked looking at him.
"Yeah," Harry said and looked at me, I really wanted him to say mine name as much as I knew it would never leave his lips. "Cho." I nearly died. I expected it, I truly did but on the other hand...I didn't. I did my best to make my smile look convincing, it must have been enough because he smiled back. He was beaming.
"I wish I could help you, Harry, but..." I trailed off and tucked my hands in my pockets seeking warmth, "I've never really been in a boyfriend/girlfriend situation. You really are asking the wrong person, Andrew or Athena would be better."
Harry nodded understandably, "Thanks anyway," He said and looked at me, eyes sparkling. Was I not being obvious? I sighed as we entered the building, went to our dorms, changed and went to Dolores' office. We both glanced at eachother before opening the door-like we were afraid of what lied within. Finally I swallowed hard, stepped in front and opened the door to a room that was sickenly pink with cat plates everywhere. It was giving me a headache with only being in there for 2 seconds. Dolores stood from her desk and looked at us, "Sit down." She indicated two desks on opposite sides of the room. Harry and I met eyes again and obeyed, dreading what ever idea for detention she had. She gave us both pieces of paper and quils, "We have our own-" we both began but she cut us off, "We're using mine today." Against my will I kept my mouth shut.
I sat staring at my desk, usual detention with Snape I disliked but this, this I hated. I had to be-excuse me-Harry and I had to be stuck in the same room with this....human blush-puff-ball, just because we were trying to defend the truth and everyone Dumbledore and Harry had said. I wanted nothing more than to wrap my hands around Dolores Jane Umbridge throat and.....no...I must not think of that....it weakens me to be just as low as my Grandfather. No. I would keep my temper and take my punishment.
"Alright." Dolores said and walked over to me after giving Harry what to write, he stared at us for a minute and then looked at his paper, "Write this 20 or so times." She hand me a piece of paper with 2 or 3 lines of words on it. "Only the first line please. Perhaps this will teach you not to get out of line." Her tone was still sickly sweet but I could feel the pleasure of giving us detention within.
I looked down at the paper and felt the blood drain from my face, my throat went dry, my heart pounded, and I felt nauseous. I quickly compused myself and set the paper down with shaking hands, I took three deep breaths and glared down at the paper, I could not believe she wanted me to do this. I gently cleared my voice and glared up at her my voice harsh but quiet so Harry could not hear."I will not write this, I won't-I'm under protection of the ministry writing this would make me a walking-"
"Then dear" she turned to look me strait in the eye but I did not waffle, "cross it out after writing it. Then when you're done use your other hand to write the second group of words on your list."
I furred my eyebrow, that made no sense."Why my other-" I began but yet again she cut me off.
"You'll see" She said and I glared at her and then looked at Harry. Neither of us had begun to write. I looked down at her paper clearly written on top was 'Meygan Ann Riddle, Heir to Voldemort' and underneath was 'Angel of Darkness.' I gritted my teeth and picked up my, or more shall I say Dolores' special quill. I would obey. This time. Both Harry and I took deep breaths and began writing. Harry was the first to react, he sucked in air and dropped the quil on the desk as the words dug into his hands, he looked over at me, I on the other hand was clenching the pen in my fist and gritting my teeth hard. I glanced up at him as Dolores was looking at his hand talking to him, I glared down at my paper and continued writing as he did then after I finnished the first sentence I crossed it out-I didn't want anyone to know what I was, that I was the air to that man, so of course I did so. And that killed.
It wasn't even twenty minutes before I heard Harry get up, ready to go. He looked at me, "Dragon?" I looked up, went to speak but Dolores stopped me, "She's still got the rest of hers to do." He looked down at my hand and to my face, I moved my eyes towards the door telling him to go-if he stayed she'd just punish him more. Harry gave a sorry wave and left me alone with Dolores.
"It looks like it's going to be a long night, huh hun?" Dolores said looking at me from her desk.
I looked up at her over my writing '15 down, 5 more to go then onto the other hand' I said to myself, "No. It's not." I said and looked back down at my paper and began writing and scratching out fast, I didn't want to be around her one more second. As soon as I finnished I hightailed it out of there, she was in mid-sentence going to tell me to behave or else but I didn't listen. I ran out, down the hall, up the stairs and into the common room. It was far past midnight when I did and I didn't expect anyone to be up. I was wrong. EXTREMELY wrong.
"You okay, Dragon?" Dean said looking at me and I snapped my head towards him, brething hard after all that running. If Ron knew I was having a hard time breathing he'd have killed me.
I nodded and caught my breath finally, "Yeah, fine-what are you doing up?" I asked walking over and sitting across from me, "Harry came back without you," Dean said, "We all were wondering why you stayed behind." He looked at my hands, "Dragon," He said and picked my right hand up, the one that had taken the most toll, "your hand is worse than Harry's"
"Hands." I corrected and showed him my left hand, he shook his head, "This should be illegal." His ebony skin looked like night and day to my pale, freckled skin as he looked over my hand with care. His eyes looked up and met mine and-"Dragon?" Harry said coming down the stairs, I turned my head and was staring at my hand again, Harry looked at us-his mood suddenly changed, the look in his eyes remind me of 4th year, I went to speak but he stormed up the stairs. I furred my eyebrows. Some how I knew the Harry I loved had disapeared again, for quite some time.
"What's gotten into him?" Dean asked and I shrugged, "I don't know," I said, "he was fine earlier." Dean shrugged and continued looking my hand, I couldn't help but smile-he was one of my closest friends.
"....Dragon?"
"Yeah, Dean?" He looked up at me and then back at my hand again, "I was wondering...." he trailed off, "Well I was wondering if you wanted to go into Hogsmeade to the Three Broom Sticks or something sometime."
I raised my eyebrows, "Oh, Dean, of course-we do that all the time."
"Well...I was....I was kind of wondering if, well, maybe this time you'd want to make it like a date or something." Dean said and glanced up and down again.
"A date?" I said. I was shocked, I'd never been asked out in my life and surely I never expected to be-especially by Dean. Last I knew he had a major-head-over-heels-in-love crush on a girl in Ravenclaw....but me?
Dean laughed suddenly and put down my hand and stood up, "Sorry stupid question, forget about it, Dragon, I don't know why I said that."
I looked quickly towards the stairs, Dean and then grabbed his arm making a quick decision, "Dean," He looked at me, "I'll go with you," He looked at surprised as what I was saying as I was, "I'll go on a date with you."

Clip from Chapter 5
Harry was shaking me, suddenly I sat up, "You've been sleeping for over five minutes," Harry whispered, "Snape looks like he wants to kill you or something." I glanced over at Snape who was staring at me. I lightly waved.
"Detention Ms. Weasley!" I could have repeated thoughs words with him I was so familiar to hearing them.
I turned to Harry, "Thanks, Harry," I said and in his eyes for a second I swore I saw the old him shine through be then he shrugged, "Eh." he said and went back to potions. My eyes lowered to my potions ingrediants. Harry was lost and so was part of me.

Alright, with that over onto the info I was REALLY posting this for. This month is November (YAHOO! NaNoWriMo) and it's a new month. Which means, new challenge. Your first challenge, the non-writing one is to dress up as one of your book charactors (what ever one) on Monday, the 26th of November (we must take pictures because SOME of us live in different states and we need proof! lol) Now. For your writing challenge: I'm brotherhood 2.0 obessed as most of you already know :) so guess what-this is Brotherhood 2.0 related. YAHOO!
Your challenge (if you should choose to except it.Bwahahaha) is to write a verse to the Nerd Fighter Theme song (more info here http://www.brotherhood2.com/?page_id=63 like the beat and such) and then post it on the link above and become a Nerd Fighter. lol.
Take my for example:
"I'm a writing nerd I write too much
I can't see a paper and leave it blank.
My imagination goes too much;
Novels, languages, fan fictions they're all results
Of my OCD writing disorder
I'm a nerd fighter who writes too much
The more I write the less I talk!"
....yeah, I know, it makes NO sense. But. Still. Only rules, you can be the same nerd fights you just need different lyrics!
So. Yeah. That's all.
Hope you don't hate me TOO much!

Chapter 4: And Another Door Opens
By: Katherine LaGassie

(tall one is Dean FYI)I stayed leaning against the brick wall with my arms around my legs and my forehead on my knees for awhile.

My imagination goes too much;
Novels, languages, fan fictions they're all results
Of my OCD writing disorder
I'm a nerd fighter who writes too much
The more I write the less I talk!"
....yeah, I know, it makes NO sense. But. Still. Only rules, you can be the same nerd fights you just need different lyrics!
So. Yeah. That's all.
Hope you don't hate me TOO much!

Krazyk's story
This is KrazyK, and I'm posting more of my last story. I'm going to skip around some though, because I dont want to type up some boring but neccesary parts and there's parts I havent actually written. :D So here it is, starting after I ended my last post. And just so y'all know, Aleandra found out she can hear the dragon Seraphim in her head and he wants her to learn the language and then teach everyone else. :D Here we go!
“Ah. Eee. Ooh.” The vowels of Dragon language were like a strange taste in my mouth, an unknown flavor. Seraphim said them aloud with me, and tried not to laugh at the faces I was making. “But what can you mean, there’s no I sound?” I asked, frustrated.
“There just isn’t,” he shrugged. “Our mouths weren’t made to say them.”
“But you can say them in my head,” I pointed out.
“I’m not actually saying them,” Seraphim explained slowly. “In my mind, I’m copying the how you say things, and then broadcasting it to your mind. Magically.”
“Oh, Magic.” I sighed. “That explains why its so complicated.” Although this was a magical land, and there were magical creatures, there wasn’t a lot of it around here. This region preferred to use more reliable things, such as Dragons, to ensure our safety. It also happened to be the most peaceful part of Lialon.
“I think we should be done for the night,” Seraphim said, sensing my tiredness.
“Thank you,” I groaned. I was looking very forward to finally getting some sleep. For the past three days I had been squeezing Zahreek lessons in the middle of the night.
“Have you told anyone about learning the language?” Seraphim asked me before I was quite out of the cave.
“No,” I frowned. I had been so busy with all my day duties, and wanting to catch whatever sleep I could, I had completely forgotten to tell Rin.
“Alright, because you may not want to,” Seraphim cautioned.
“Why? Who would not want me to learn Zahreek?” I asked
“I’m not sure,” he said. “Its just that so many things could go wrong…” he was lost in thought, and I slipped out. He seemed to worry a lot, thinking about vague forebodings. I shook my head and went back to my room.
I tried to keep my thoughts positive, but the voices came crowding in anyways. ’Learning a language is so hard!’ they said. ’What if I’m not as good as Seraphim says? And so much depends on me, even though I have no idea what. What if I simply can’t do it?’
“No!” I sat up from my position on the bed, and pounded my head against the wall. “Don’t think like that! Never! Ever! Do you hear me?” I pushed open the shutters and let the cool night air wash over my face. A dragon was silhouetted against the moon, circling over the sleeping city. A moth fluttered in the breeze and landed clinging to the wall. My eyelids
drooped and closed, the peaceful scene lulling me to sleep.
And then, there was a clanking. A small clanking, but a sound completely foreign to the forest. My eyes snapped open, and I stared into the darkness. Nothing stirred, and it was very quiet. Then there was a flicker of movement, and a flash of silver. That was all I needed. Down the building I climbed, hopping easily from window ledge to window ledge. This was a very professional Dragon killer, he moved almost silently through the forest. But I was silenter. Soon I had caught up to where he was, and was about to call out for him to stop in the name of
King Charles the Third, when something made me hesitate. Maybe it was because I remembered there was supposed to have been a night sentry in the forest, or maybe it was the way the knight suddenly hooted like and owl and someone hooted back. But I knew right then, something was very, very wrong.
I made my way through the forest as fast as I could, and got to the Dragons Caves long before he did. The dragons in the large cave watched me warily but made no move to stop me as I ran to Seraphim. “Seraphim,” I gasped. “There’s a knight coming. I don’t know if I can stop him with authority alone, can you help me?”
“Not with all ten of them,” he replied, and I cursed. Just like I’d thought, they’d surrounded us.
“But why would they do this?” I almost wailed. “They’ve never come in groups before.”
“There’s no time to explain,” Seraphim said urgently. “You must do something. Now.”
“Alright,” I nodded, a crazy plan forming in my head, and climbed the nearest tree. I was drawing my bow just as the knight I had first seen appeared. He strode boldly into the moonlight, and bellowed forth,
“Dragons! I challenge you to a fight to the death!”
“No,” I said, as loudly as I could. “In the name of King Charles the Third, the treaty of this city, and the protectors, I command you to take back you challenge.”
“You command me, do you?” he said, looking up at me with a dangerous light in his eye. “Alright then, I wont fight. You can take your crossbow off me now, though.”
“I command you and your nine comrades,” I said firmly, not moving. His eyes narrowed.
“Oh, you think you know so much, do you? Well you don’t know anything. And what should stop us from cutting down you little tree and--exterminating you?” the moon glinted off more silver as the rest of the knight stepped menacingly forward from the darkness.
“And what should stop me from ordering the rest of us archers from shooting every last one of you?” I replied evenly, though my heart was thudding. “Not to mention the dragons.”
“Oh yes, the dragons,” the leaders face turned ugly. “You just keep your precious Dragons by your side and everything will be fine. But it wont, not for you. I’ll get all of you.” And they strode away.
I know I should have gone dashing after them to see where they came from and arrest them, but frankly I was too shaken. I could barely climb down from the tree and stagger into Seraphims cave where I slumped against the wall. “And I suppose you’ll say ‘It is not my place to reveal it’ now, too?” I said wearily.
“No,” I must tell you everything,” Seraphim said gravely. “I suppose it will not put your life any more in danger then it already is.”
“Ooooh,” I gave a long sigh and put my face in my hands. “Just what I needed.” And so much for getting sleep.
Someone was shaking me. “Eh,” I groaned. Blearily I tried to open my eyes, struggling to wake up. “Aleandra!” Rin shouted my name, and my eyes flew open.
“What? What?” I sat up from my uncomfortable position on the ground and took a look and Rin’s worried face.
“What are you doing here?” He asked exasperatedly, gesturing at the cave.
“What are you doing here?” I asked back, trying to sort out my muddled brain.
“I come here every morning, to get this dragon for our morning rounds,” he said, nodding at the dragon behind us. I turned around, to find Seraphim gazing quizzically at me. Seraphim.
‘ “So explain,” ’ I had said last night, after everything. And he had started to.
‘ “You know our neighboring country, Riddam?” ’ he asked. I nodded, not sure what that had to do with the attack. ‘ “Well, us dragons have relatives there. And they brought word to us, Riddam wants Lialon. And to do that…” ’ And quite suddenly, I had fallen asleep.
“He was just about to tell me…” I trailed off, aware that I was thinking
aloud.
“Tell you what? Who?” Rin asked.
“A dream,” I said finally. I couldn’t tell him. “I was having a dream, that Se-- this dragon could talk. He was telling me a story. I must have sleep walked here.”
“Sleep walked?” Rin said doubtfully. “Through the whole forest?”
“I know the path pretty well,” I rolled my eyes at him. “I only walk it every day.”
“Alright,” Rin got to his feet and beckoned to Seraphim. “I’d better be off, I’m late already. And make sure you don’t sleep walk again. You’ll give me a heart attack if I find you in some other random place!”
“Well thanks,” I said. “See you.” As they were leaving Seraphim spoke to me, dead serious.
“Speak to no one of last night,” he said. “And be careful.” I wished I could have spoken to him, too. But Rin was there, and I didn’t know how to ‘Broadcast my thoughts’ like he did. But he had to finish explaining. Other then wondering about it to death, I guessed that what he was about to tell me was very important. I was lost in thought the whole way out of the forest.
“Where were you?” Familiar voices greeted me as I stepped into the protectors house. “You missed breakfast! You never do that,” They half joked.
“I was just checking the forest,” I said, grabbing a muffin. After all, it was true. “I guess I lost track of time.”
“Did you find anything?” A nervous fellow named Liam asked quickly.
“No,” I said, as a thought began to dawn on me. “Wait, weren’t you the one who had night watch last night?” I asked.
“Yes,” he said, fidgeting. “Why do you ask?”
“I didn’t see you, that’s all,” I said and headed towards the stairs. On the way up, I heard footsteps pattering behind me.
“Wait,” Liam called out, and I turned to look at him in surprise. “I wanted to thank you, for checking the forest last night,” he said.
“Why?” I said, very confused. “You were there the whole time.”
“Well the thing is,” he hesitated, the tips of his ears going pink. “I fell asleep. So I’m glad you dropped by, I would have felt awful if someone had gotten to the dragons. I’ve never fallen asleep on duty before, you know,” he said, a bit defensively.
“That’s alright,” I patted his arm, smiling warmly. “And your welcome.” Poor Liam had just sorted things out for me.
That night I stole away to Seraphim’s cave again. There wasn’t a sound in the forest, which was a relief. I wasn’t ready for anymore unwanted action.
“What is it?” Seraphim said as soon as he saw my face.
“I figured out why I fell asleep last night,” I whispered. “And why the knights weren’t stopped by the night sentry.” Seraphim nodded along as I told him of my conversation with Liam, and didn’t look very surprised when I finished triumphantly “Someone put a spell on me and Liam last night! Someone who doesn’t want me to know, what you were going to explain. Can you finish explaining?” But Seraphim was thinking aloud.
“One of them must have been a wizard, then,” he said. “They wouldn’t have gotten back to their so quickly.”
“Hello? Can you please explain?” I jumped in. “It has to be important.”
“It is.” Seraphim peered intently into the woods, then satisfied, he explained. “You remember last night when I said Riddam wants Lialon? Well, this city would be their first attack. Its right on the border, at the base of the mountains.”
“So if they try to come over we would be directly in the way,” I said slowly.
“Exactly. And this city is very well protected, with its dragons. So to get over this city, they first have to exterminate the dragons.” The importance of his words sunk in and then I burst out “The knights were from riddam!” After that I was quite speechless. They had planned everything perfectly, and it would have succeeded… I shuddered to think what would have happened. And all that had stood in their way was me.
“Now you see why your in so much danger,” Seraphim broke into my thoughts.
“No, you are!” I said. “You’re the one a whole country wants to kill! I have to tell the King at once!”
“Then you’ll need to get there fast,” Seraphim said. “We must leave at
once.”
“Shouldn’t we tell the lord of this city?” I asked. “You dragons definitely should have more protection.”
“The fewer people who know of our leaving the better ,” Seraphim said slowly. “News could leak out, and we’d have all of Riddam on our heels.”
“Well then,” I said. “I guess we’d better leave.”
Okay now it goes to when they land for the day, Aleandra goes to a big library in the city their nearby and sees a dragon word carved on the wall. She gets Seraphim to come with her in the night and look at it. And while they were flying he tells her the story of the war between humans and dragons, when the dragon language was lost.
The huge doors looked solid and totally impassable, but Seraphim heaved them open like they were cardboard, after I checked the street to make sure no one was around. What would people think to see a dragon in the library!
“Now where was this dragon word?” Seraphim whispered, his eyes giving a ghostly light for me to see by.
“Here,” I scanned the walls, and pointed to the symbol.
“Here,” he echoed, and said when I looked at him “That’s it. The word’s Here.”
“Why would dragons go to all the trouble of carving the word Here in the libraries wall?” I mused, running my hand over the indentation. My fingers found little notches in the word, with which a little pressure slid to the right. With a click, the floor under my feet started sliding
backwards.
“Ah!” I yelled, nearly losing my balance. Seraphim looked equally astonished, and we both peered down into the dark hole the floor revealed. “Do I want to find out what’s down there?” I whispered apprehensively. The sound of loud footsteps made my decision for me, and I jumped down.
It wasn’t a far drop, and Seraphim fluttered down besides me. I gasped in surprise as the room was illuminated. It was a large room, with a wooden floor and ornate walls. But everything was covered in stacks and stacks of scrolls. Only a narrow path to the other end of the room was
left, and kneeling there rummaging in the scrolls was a man. “What are you doing here?” I blurted out as he turned his head at the sound of our arrival.
“You.” The knight from the dragons forest rose menacingly, a scroll clutched tightly in his hand. “I thought I would see you sometime soon.”
“And what are you doing here?” Seraphim stepped out of the shadows, and I straightened. “You have no right to steal scrolls from this library.”
“Ah, but they wont even know its missing, will they?” He sneered. “No one’s been in here for three thousand years.”
“So how do you know about it?” Seraphim asked with an intensity I had never seen before in him.
“Why would I tell you?” he answered bravely, but foolishly. Seraphim lunged at him, not very far but enough to scare him. The knight leapt towards the tunnel that had been dug into the wall of the chamber, and at the mouth of it turned back. His eyes were burning coals, staring at
Seraphim.
“We will get you,” he repeated his former words, pausing emphatically. “ALL of you.” And with that, I punched him. “Hey!” He knocked backwards against the wall, more surprised that I had sneaked up on him then hurt by the blow. I drew my dagger and hurled it at him, causing him to scramble out of the way and into the tunnel. He quickly receded into darkness.
“That was rather foolish, don’t you think?” Seraphim reprimanded mildly. “After all, that was your only dagger.”
“He didn’t know it,” I smiled, rather smugly, and bent to pick up the scroll he had dropped in his haste. “And I wasn’t after him. I wanted this.”
“Oh, yes, let me see it please,” Seraphim said as I made my way back to him. I frowned with confusion as I looked at the scroll, which was full of tightly written Dragon letters. “The waterfall of wind,” Seraphim read aloud when I handed it to him, and looked puzzled. “Why do I recognize that name?
“Read it,” I urged impatiently, and Seraphim continued on.
“ ‘The waterfall of wind is located in the beautiful land of Ferasim. It is very good farm land, abundant with rivers and lakes. The only mountain is called Gerari.’ ” he broke off, exclaiming suddenly “I do know that name! It’s the name of a great dragon hero, who lived about six thousand years ago.” I waited, and he continued. “ ‘The waterfall of wind goes off a cliff on the south side of Gerari. Inside is a great treasure, valuable to all of man kind and dragon kind. It was out of its holding place and being used for the past three thousand years, but now that a great war is taking place it has been put away for safe keeping. Gerari has been proved right, the humans were not worthy enough for it. To release it, you must willingly throw yourself off of the cliff of the waterfall of wind. It will suck you into safety, where if Gerari sees right you will be entrusted with the treasure. Then his spirit will be laid at peace.’ ”
There was a silence in the room, a silence such as I had never heard before. All the scrolls seemed to be listening, waiting for the next words. “So Riddam doesn’t just want Lialon, it wants the great treasure too?” I said, half whispering.
“Yes.” Seraphim breathed, his face clear with understanding. “And this great treasure is much more important then the single country of Lialon. If it falls into Riddam’s hands, all the dragons will surely die and the treasure will be destroyed. We must go there and protect it at once.”
So they have to cross over Riddam to get to the Waterfall of Wind, and they get attacked by the bad guys. They find shelter but Aleandra's shot in the arm.
I slept peacefully for a long time, my pain and worry fading away into nonexistence. It all returned when I woke up. “Oh no,” I hissed as I sat up, finding myself looking into a pair of unfamiliar eyes.
“What?” The boy said just noticing me, and stepped forward. He was still by the trees across the clearing, and using my good arm I tried to scuttle backwards and into the safety of the trees. No such luck. Giving a cry of pain, I fell over again as my wounded arm scratched against
rocks. “You’re hurt!” He exclaimed, rather unnecessarily. I just groaned and closed my eyes, more out of frustration then pain. What an idiot I was, staying out in the clearing where anyone could see me. And where, for that matter, was Seraphim?
“Here, let me see that,” the boy hurried forward and bent over me, examining my wound critically. As of my present situation, there wasn’t any way I could stop him. “How did you get this?” he asked seriously, looking at me. I turned my face away and didn’t answer. He paused for a moment, then shook his head and stepped away. “I don’t have anything with me to cure this, you’d have to come with me to the village doctor to get treatment.”
“It will heal on its own,” I spoke at last. “And I’m not going anywhere.”
“Where are you from?” he asked, still hoping to get an answer from me. “I live in Mefara, a village just a little ways through the woods.”
“How close is it?” I tilted my head sharply to look at him.
“Half hour walk, maybe,” he answered and I mentally made a face. We’d have to leave by nightfall, if this young man didn’t spill our whereabouts before then. And by the way, where was Seraphim? I scanned the skies anxiously but didn’t see him, all the while hoping this guy
would just give up standing there and go away.
“Look I don’t mean to be rude, and thank you for your concern, but can you just go away now?” I asked exasperatedly after a few minutes.
“Alright, if that’s what you want,” the boy said, walking slowly away but his face still curious. When he was almost at the other end of the clearing he turned and said in a rush “Oh, and you may want your bow and arrows near you, there’s said to be a dragon roaming around here. The
authorities already tried to get him with their special poison tipped arrows, but he’s still
around.” And with one look at my face he quickly left.
And there you have it! I havent really been working on it alot because I have been trying to figure out my nano plot. And I think I've succeeded! I shall now tell it to you in great detail. :D
So there's three worlds, Human, Fairy, and an alternate world that's like human world. One main character is Ember, in Human world. It starts when she finds out she's part fairy, and she goes to fairy world with her grandfather. Her grandfather is in charge of an orginization that protects the gateway to fairy world, and its made up of people that are part fairy. When she's there they tell her the story of the third world. The alternate world discovered the gate to fairyland before Ember's did, and they told the whole world about it. So lots of people went there, and lots of children were part fairy. But then a bad fairy got into their world, and a bad person got into fairy world and there was general havoc. So they sealed off the gate and in the Alternate world they tried to find and kill everyone who was part fairy. But a few remained. Thats where my second MC is, Taran is part fairy and he's hiding out with other people like him. When Ember hears about the state the people are in in the other world, she wants to save them. So she goes out to find the gate and rescue them.
So yeah it isnt much, but I'm so excited!!!!!! I cant wait to write it. And good luck on all of yours, everyone!
Oh and on the first of november I will be dressing up as my MC, Ember. It shouldnt be too different because she's pretty much like me. :D

Randomness-nessy-ness-ness
Hey guys! Long time no post ;) Juuusssstttttt Kidding. So this post has 3 or 4 parts to it. Yes. I said parts. *watches as you all scream and run away* The first part is Carmen and Charlie from my HP Fan Fiction book, I realize that there is a lot that goes on that I OBVIOUSLY can't fit into Dragon's perspective so I feel the need now and again to do stuff like this, mainly with Carmen and Charlie because they seem to be in the middle of everything-friends with the right people, she's muggleborn, he's a Weasley, I dunno-it clicks. And. I love them. Cute couple really, in my head anyway. The first one takes place when Carmen first moves to Romania when the kids are in their 3rd year at Hogwarts. The second one takes place about the second year Carmen's lived in Romania so Harry and them are in their 4th year. Wow. lol. It's around Christmas time-ish. And for all of you who may wonder this at the end. Yes, Carmen is over there all-the-time.
Here you go:
Charlie glanced over his shoulder and out the window as the movers moved more things within the appartment across the street. He tapped his fingers anxiously on his mug of instant soup....cooking was not his expertise.
He glanced at the letter on the counter, freshly opened and signed in his mom's cursive. He hadn't seen his school friend Carmen since they graduated and hadn't spoken to her since 4 months after that. Once more, it had slightly bothered his mother that they lost touched cause she had always hoped he and Carmen would get together-which they didn't- normally he'd be excited to see Carmen again but because of that, now he was worried. What ideas could have his mother put in her head? He let out a sigh and stood, he knew Carmen was in the appartment-she had arrived 2 days ago but his courage to go see her didn't seem to want to appear. He placed his mug on the counter and walked over-better now then never. Or was it? He sighed and took a deep breath gathering his confidence and he pressed the buzzer.
"Hello?" An elderly woman's voice said.
"....Hi..." He replied, beginning to have second thoughts.
"How can I help you deary?"
"Uhh..." He glanced around nervously what the heck was he doing. "I'm here to see C-Carmen...." he trailed off, what if she had changed her last name? Married? How stupid would he look.
"Carmen Morgan?"
Charlie smiled relieved, same last name, "Yeah. Her."
"Hold on dear, What's your name?"
"Charlie Weasley."
"Alright." The woman said, shut off that buzzer and went the the next, "Carmen deary?"
Carmen looked up from her pottery wheel, "Uh, yeah?"
"There's a young man down here by the name of Charlie Weasley, any interest? Want me to buzz him in or shoe him off."
"Oh no!" Carmen said quickly, "Buzz him in!" She glanced around her appartment. "A mess." she sighed, "Just my luck." There was a quick knock her her door, "Dang-it." She muttered and looked from her potters wheel and the door, "Er....Come in..."
Charlie opened the door, "I can come back later if-" Carmen immediately got up and jumped on him, hugging him happily, making sure not to get clay on him. He laughed, "Nice to see you too CAM."
Carmen smiled and let go, "Er," She looked around the room, "If I had known-"
"Don't worry," He shrugged, "Seems homey-boxes make wonderful seats." Charlie said and put his hands in his pockets. Carmen smiled, "So," He began and looked from the potters wheel to her hands, "new hobby?"
Carmen looked suddenly shocked, "Oh. yeah. It is, I'm sorry if I got you-" Charlie shook his head, took her hands and put them on his face, smearing clay on them, "There." Charlie said looking at her as he lowered his hands, a smiled still on his face. Carmen sighed and smiled, "You haven't changed one bit, have you?"
"No," Charlie said and followed her over to her potters wheel as she began putting things away, "But obviously you have."
Carmen looked over, "How so?"
"Last time I saw you, you were 17-it feels like ages."
"Do I look old?"
Charlie smiled and bit back the urge of saying something other than his reply, "Not a bit, you look your age."
Carmen smiled, "I'm not really that different."
Charlie pointed to her clothes and she looked down give an ackward laugh, neon orange heals, jean skort, jean short sleeved jacket that came bellow her chest and a green tank top almost neon it's self. "Yeah....well...okay, somethings have changed." She said. "I like it," Charlie said and sat down on the couch.
"I got it from Tonks....we've become good friends and well-she tends to rub off on you." Carmen said as she kicked some boxes into a closest and shut the door, "But, really, I'm just the same."
"Really now?" Charlie asked eyebrows raised as he looked at her, "You used to wear make up?"
"I don't all the time."
"You used to chase cons?"
Carmen sighed and smiled, "Alright. I've changed, you happy?"
"Quite so," He said with a smile as she sat down next to him. Alright, so his mom's suggestion was not a bad one. "What are you doing so far from home?" Carmen asked turning coffee brown eyes on him.
"I should ask you the same."
"Ministry work."
"Ah. Just work."
"Dragon's I've heard." Her tone stiftened as she shifted uncomfortably. "I'm not in any danger." he reassured her, "I've got a good team, we're safe and careful."
"And Aurrors are trained by the best but you still see them dropping like flies." Carmen pointed out.
"Don't remind me." Charlie replied and Carmen began laughing, "Please," She said, "If you think a death eater is killing me you got another thing comin', I've got more training than most " She smiled.
"However," Charlie said thoughtfully, "I know that a killing curse can't be stopped, how would you avoid that?"
"I'd duck."
"If you couldn't."
"Trap then before they could get me."
"Carmen-"
"Come in, Char, let's not talk about this, it's like you think I'm in something dangerous or something-you're the one around dragon's of all things." She jumped up, "I believe your mother said the arrangement was that you'd show me around town, you better hop to it or I'm gonna drag your sorry little but around myself buddy." She smiled and winked popping a piece of gum into her mouth.
Charlie sighed and got up, "I was wrong." he shook his head "You haven't changed." He laughed as she walked out, grabbing both her keys and wand and shut the door behind them.
"Where to?" She asked looking at him.
"My work area."
"Oh. No. I don't think so."
He laughed, "I want you to meet my friends, that's all." He takes her hand, "Come on. They know all about you."
"Thanks, that's reasurring especially since you know every single aspect of my life."
"I used to." He corrected.
"Oh give it time." She smiled, "You will again."
He looked at her, "I missed you, you know."
"I know, because I missed you to." She smiled and followed as he walked. She felt so akward, not in the I-don't-know-you-it's-been-so-long ackward but the I-still-know-you-after-all-these-years-and-we-still-get-along ackward. She had expected probably a bit of shouting or something on his part. She had dropped him after all. Dropped her best-friend like a lead weight. All because of something one of her trainers said. Never again she had promised herself. Never. Course Tonk's already knew she wouldn't do it again, she had seen her as crushed as she could ever be. Carmen shudder.
Charlie looked at her with raised eyebrows, "Something wrong?" Carmen blink, "uh, no, everythings fine." She smiled lightly. Was it bad enough Mrs. Weasley had heard from Tonks about her coming to Romania and then suddenly decided to write out of the blue but she also had to tell Charlie she was in Romania? Not that she wasn't happy. Merlin no, she was very happy but, she didn't know anything about him anymore. At all. Carmen glanced at him as he walked looking straight ahead, 'What if he has a girlfriend? .....Or is married.' Carmen nearly hit herself, 'What foolish things to think,' She thought to herself and shook her head, 'Of course he is and if not-what should that matter to you? Nothing. Right. Why? Because you shouldn't be mingling with him THAT'S why, for several reasons the top two being you dumped him as your friend how many years ago? And the other being the danger you could put him in.' She glanced at him, 'But he is handsome, no. Carmen. Grab a hold of yourself......what would Tonks do?......Break into singing Weirded Sisters-somehow that doesn't seem approperiate. Dang-it-to-Merlin Carmen you love him don't you? Dang-it, Dang-it, Dang-it.' Carmen groaned, "Stupid, Stupid, Stupid"
"Calling yourself names again, Carm, thought you stopped that in school?" Charlie asked with a boyish smirk. Carmen gasped. "I, uh, well, I uh..." "You....what?" He raised his eyebrows. "I remember that I left a pair of earings back in Tonks and I's appartment."
"So you called yourself stupid?"
"Kingsley and the others are always after me at forgetting things lately, ever since your-" She immediately shut up, 'Why not just tell him you love him if you told him THAT'
Charlie looked at her with a raised eyebrow, "My what?"
".........uh.....nevermind, stupid subject," She searched the surrounding for something to break the conversation. She laughed nerviously, "I haven't acted this way since we were in school." She nearly hit herself again, 'That was out loud, dang'
Charlie chuckled and looked at her, "You feeling okay? Still 'jet lagged'?"
Carmen dropped her jaw and slapped his arm playfully, "How dare you critize muggle travel!" She scolded. Charlie began laughing and put his arms around her, "I would never do such a thing to you." Carmen smiled, he wasn't mad-infact he seemed happy. She could deal with this.
"Charlie, listen about when I-"
Charlie stopped and turned her around to face him, "That's what all this nervousness is all about isn't it? You 'ending' our friendship, Carmen, seriously, how square do you think I am?" Carmen went to open her mouth and he smiled putting his forehead to hers, "I didn't seriously mean answer that," He smiled, "I was upset but I got over it, you know why? Because I knew what you must have been going through in order to do that. If you thought I thought you were dancing the jitterbug when you got off the phone you've got another thing coming." Carmen laughed and he smiled, "Besides, Tonks wrote me." Carmen looked shocked, "She said you were upset, and explained what happened, trust me alls forgiven. Scouts honor."
"You were never a scout, Charlie."
"Pardon me, Miss Morgan, dragon keepers honor." Charlie said and winked.
"Alright," Carmen said and smiled, she did feel better, however Charlie didn't know the half of what she truly felt and probably never would. Charlie wrapped his arms back around her and walked her to his work area. "Don't worry," He whispered, "I won't let the dragon's come near you." Carmen stuck out her tongue but smiled at his caring tone.
"Hey Charlie!" A man said walking over, "Thought this was your day off," He looked at Carmen, "Well now, whose this?"
"This, Greg," Charlie looked at Carmen, "is Carmen." Carmen became extremely nervous at that introduction what had Charlie told them?
"Well now," Greg said and leaned against a tree, "Nice to finally put a face to the name."
Carmen smiled, and leaned into Charlie, "What the heck have you told them?" She whispered and he just glanced at her and smiled.
"Charlie!" A woman with short, chin length black hair said while running over, "What are you doing here? I thought you had off? Something wrong? Everything alright?" She turned to Carmen, "Oh dear," Her eyes bright, "You're absolutely beautiful!" She turned to Charlie, "This your girl?"
Carmen and Charlie immediately made distance between them, "Charlie's girl?" Carmen croaked and Charlie's eyes went bug-eyed, "No, no, Tracey, this is Carmen, my friend-the Aurror." He looked at Carmen, "This is Greg's wife Tracey." Carmen smiled embarressed and lightly waved.
Tracey gasped happily and smiled, "Oh we've heard so much about you! Charlie talks about you constantly, you'd think by now he would have run out of things to talk about!" She turned her head to Charlie, "Mind if I show, Carmen around?"
A now red with embarresment Charlie looked at Carmen and then Tracey, "Sure, I'll see how things are going here," He looked at Carmen, "You don't mind do you?"
Carmen laughed nervously but hid it well, "Not at all, if I die I'll just drag you down as well." She patted his arm and followed Tracey. "How long have you known, Charlie?" Carmen asked looking at the woman.
"Oh, ever since he moved to Romania, Greg's a bit older than him-we're from France, wouldn't know it would you?" She smiled at Carmen, "We were pretty skilled when Charlie arrived and Greg kind of took Charlie under his wing, they're very good friends-we have dinner each friday together." She gasped coming to a sudden realization, "Tonights friday!" She looked at Carmen, "Why don't you come too, oh it will be so much fun and oh I'm sure our children will adore you-do you like children?"
It was Carmen's turn to go bug-eyed, "Who doesn't?" Tracey smiled, "Then it's settled. With that done-how long have you known Charlie?"
Carmen looked down at her hands and began playing with her hair-tie , "Since before Hogwarts-My family, muggles, moved into a house just down the street from Charlie's family. We also hung out-his family joked about us being joined at the hip because we hardly left eachother's side."
"Oo," Tracey said and Carmen raised her eyebrows, "There's nothing between us, we're just good friends." "That's how it always starts." Tracey said as she sat down in the grass. "Darling if I had to tell one thing to you it would be open up your eyes and look, that man hasn't stopped talking about you since he arrived in Romania and when your mother sent him that confoundent letter the only things he could think about were if you were the same, if there was more than one of you-anything about you, he was worried he'd lost you forever. Honey, you figure out the math. "
Carmen silently sunk down into the shaded grass by a tree and looked up to the sky, she had, hopefully, tried figured out the math a long time ago, a very long time but the idea seemed superficial, unreal-a fanatsy. She fingered her wand. Especially now.
"Something wrong?" Tracey asked looking at her while handing her a cold drink.
Carmen took it, thanked her and looked at her, "Oh, no-just thinking."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carmen runs up to Charlies house and knocks on the door, "Hey Charlie!" there's a joking groan from inside, "He's groanin' Carm, maybe you should come back later-" A different male voice replies to her knock.
A playful slap could be heard, "Greg!" The door opened and Tracey smiled at Carmen, "Hey there, girly," She stepped aside so Carmen could come in, "Ooo, what do we have here?"
Carmen laughed and held out her small tree that was nearly the size of her hand, "It's a mini christmas tree, for Charlie's place," She glanced around his flat, "He needs it."
"Big time." Tracey agreed.
Charlie poked his head around from the kitchen, "Did you just say christmas tree?" When Carmen and Tracey nodded he looked at his calender which says November 8th, "It's a bit early don't you think? I mean I've just taken down my halloween decorations."
"Oh hogwash," Carmen said and put the little tree on the table, "growing up my family put up Christmas decorations the day after Halloween."
"I never said your family was normal, Carmen." Charlie pointed out jokingly
Carmen sighed and rolled her eyes, "Niether is yours." She smiled and stuck out her tongue and he did the same in turn. Tracey sat down next to Greg and looked at them, "You two truly are adorable together." That was all it took, Carmen nearly choked to death on the olive she had popped in her mouth a millisecond before and Charlie dropped the piece of raw meat in his hands on his wooden cutting board and looked at her. "What?" He croaked.
"You-two-are-cute-together." She repeated slowly. This time Carmen started laughing hysterically and Charlie couldn't help but smirk and shake his head before turning back to the raw meat.
Carmen controlled herself, "Sorry it's just-well-nothing, nevermind." She looked at the meat in Charlies hands which he seemed to be beating, "Oh. Ew. Thanks now I'm not going to eat for three weeks."
"Veggitarian, Carmen?" Greg asked as he watched the discusted look on her face.
"If I wasn't I am now." She responded and this time Charlie began laughing. "Seriously though," She shook her head, "How you all keep your stomach's I don't know, If I see a drop of blood I nearly loose my stomach." Charlie looked at her sympathetically, walked passed her with the meat heading towards the back down and pecked her forhead. Greg immediately hopped up and began following Charlie, "Want to join us, Carmen?"
She gave a nervous laugh, "No thanks."
"Sure?" Greg asked and Charlie nearly shoved him out the door muttering shut up.
"Don't like dragons?" Tracey asked with a tilted head as she watched Carmen busily clean up Charlies mess muttering something about slobs.
"No, not particularly." She glanced over her shoulder, the woman who must be at most 6 years older than her was looking at her begging for more information. Within the past year she had become close with Tracey, her family and most of Charlies work pals, however she had never stepped too near Charlies work area and in nearly killed her knowing what he was doing when really, he should be the one more worried about her. Avada Kerdva can be far worse than an angry Dragon though, some may differ. And, it depends on the dragon you are refering to-even human or not. Carmen began scrubbing down the bloodied cutting board, "I'm scared to death of them, for a pretty odd reason really. See while Charlie and I were in hogwarts we had most of our classes together because obviously, we were the same year, well one day we were in Care of Magical Creatures and our teacher brought in a dragon-to Charlie's delight-I'd never seen one in my life, family's muggles, and I was standing, minding my own business when the teacher turned it's back and the dragon nearly bit my head off," Tracey's eyes widened but Carmen smiled, "It would have. If Charlie hadn't be there." Tracey smiled, "I can safely say he saved my life. Or well, my head." She shook her head, "I've been terrified ever since."
"Well you have to be afraid of something," Tracey pointed out and Carmen nodded, "However," Carmen interjected, "in this day and age our only fear turns into loosing our loved ones."
Tracey looked at her, "That's how I am," She put her hands around her tea mug, "And you?" Carmen turned to looked at her, "My fears?" Tracey nodded, "I can tell you dragons are the least of them, my biggest ones have to do with the Weasley's, the Order, the wizarding community and the children within Hogwarts."
"The fear of loosing them?"
Carmen shook her head, "The fear of letting them be lost." Tracey's eyes looked at her and locked with hers understandingly as Charlie and Greg re-entered the house laughing, obviously talking about something more pleasant. Charlie paused and held Greg back in the hall feeling the suddenly change in the air, full of worry. "We know you're in the hall." Carmen teased trying to loosen the air and push away all thoughts of Voldemort to the back of her mind as she turned back to cleaning Charlie's mess. Charlie let Greg go and they both entered the kitchen, Greg immediately going over and sitting next to his wife as Charlie lingered in the doorway watching Carmen as if figuring something out. "What are you staring at Charlie Weasley?" She asked without turning. Instead of doing what he normally would do without other's around-such as go up behind her and kiss her neck....- he made a quick move and ran forward and tickled her sides, she shrieked and splashed bubbles on his face.
"Lemon fresh, my favorite flavor." He smiled, eyes beaming. Carmen giggled and straightend up, "No fair, I'm ticklish and you're not." She pouted. Charlie just smirked and was about to kiss her head when Greg cleared his throat, "You two want to be alone?"
Both whipped around creating five feet between them, "What? Oh no! Not at all, why would we want to be alone-we're...we're just friends."
"Uh-huh," The other couple said and got up, "We'll see you two love birdstomorrow." they said and left. Carmen turned to Charlie, went up behind him, wrapped her arms around him linking her hands with his, went up on tippy toes and whispered in his ear musically, "Busted."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint: Her being effected by blood is gonna be important (hint to thoughs who have read the book Dept. of. Mysteries+Mr.W.-might mean something to you). And. Yes. Carmen DID force Charlie to put up Halloween and once again YES he was forced to dress up and for the last time YES he was forced to give out candy and entertain kids. What WOULD he do without Carmen?
Alright so seeing as I haven't posted anything original lately, okay, yeah, that's a lie-rewind- Seeing as I haven't posted anything LOA related in a LONG time I decided to do something now. This is from one of the later books. Later, later books.
LOA© Katherine LaGassie 2007
The warm summer wind howled deep into the night as Mark entered the house, went up the first set of stairs and turned to go down the hall to the next set, "You're late," A gentle, menacing voice travelled to his ears.
Mark sighed and walked back down the hall into the large living room, "Why are you still up?" He asked as he shrugged off his army jacket. Alana looked up at him from her book with gentle blue eyes, "I've been up later," Mark sighed as he untied his shoes, "Nathaniel's grandfather said-" he began.
"I don't care who-said-what, studying to be a Lord will not kill me-I've done worse." She looked at his utility belt, his new one, as he took it off. It was ripped, "Mark, what happened?" She placed her book down, he was silent. "There was an attack wasn't there?"
Mark raked a hand through his hair and looked at his wife, she may not be a mind reader like he was but she seemed to be able to nevertheless. "Yes, but nothing to worry about, no one got hurt."
"Mmmm, I'm sure." Her tone was non-believing as she pulled her sweater closer around her, she had seen far too much destruction in the past couple years to believe it.
Mark decided to change the subject, he walked over and sat beside her, "How's the studying?" He wrapped his arms around her as she closed her eyes and leaned into him, "......good...." her tone now completely relaxed within his protective embrace. He kissed her head, "D'you hear Alex is-" She began her tone light as drogginess began kicking in.
"Yes, I heard." Mark said and put his lips to her neck glancing at her. She gently slapped him, "You are cold." He smirked and put his fingers on her nearly bare shoulders. "Ah!" She shrieked and stood up slamming a pillow playfully at him, "Mark!"
He in turned and replied mockingly, "Alana!"
"Ohhhh you!" She said as she ran after him, chasing him up the several floors to their room. He turned facing her a playful challenging look was on his face. Alana went forward and pushed him onto the bed and she followed, her arms on either side of his head just above his shoulders her body slanted diagonly across him with her knees on his right side.
"When did you learn how to pounce?" He asked pretending to be surprised.
"You're faking does not phase me, Mark."
"I can try, love."
"You waste your time."
"No time with you is wasted," He leaned up and kissed her.
She smiled, "Now you are just trying to kiss up to me." He went to speak, "Litteraly." He smiled, "Yes, I know," She said and put her forehead to his, "I know you far too well."
"It's a curse really."
She sighed playfully, "Yes it is."
"Hey!" He said, trying to sound offended as he took her waist and brought her down beside him her smiling and laughing the entire time , "I missed you," he said and gently kissed her forehead. She moved over and put her head on his shoulder, "I missed you too." He rested his head on hers, "Who got killed." She asked.
"Would you stop worrying about that."
"Children?"
"No."
"Adults?"
"No."
"What else is there?"
"No one got hurt, Alana, relax, you can get attacked and not have causalties." Mark pointed out as Alana began to open her mouth, "Et, no. Believe your husband for once would you? Please?"
"I would, if I knew that some particular husband of mine wasn't worried about my physical health at the moment but seeing as he is-"
"I wouldn't lie about that."
"Aha!"
"You would lie"
"Do not make me make you shut up."
"Like you could do that."
"Do you want to bet?" He asked with raised eyebrows as his tentive green eyes locked with Alana's blue ones.
"What?" She questioned, "What do you mean do I want to-" He kissed her, "Huh?" Mark laughed, "I prove my cause." He said and wrapped his arms around her, "Come on hun," He picked her up, got up and settled them both beneath the silken covers.
"Did Adrian drag you all over Gal?" Alana asked as she rested her head on him again. Mark kissed her head, "Yeah, pretty much." He fingered her long blond hair, "Mike asked if you'd cut this again." He smiled.
Alana laughed tired, "I bet; I don't think I'll ever live that down." Mark stroked her head and stared at the wall thoughtfully, "Probably not." Alana yawned and kissed Mark's neck as she looked at the clock, "Mornin'" She smirked.
Mark stretched, "3 A.m.?" He groaned and wrapped his arms around her, "G'night." She giggled, "No I'm serious, sleep." She giggled again, "Shh..." Again. "Alana seriously, aren't you tired?" She nodded, "Then hush, love." He kissed her neck and put his head next to hers and she began laughing again "What is it?"
"Thinking about when I gelled your hair back." She smirked, looked at him while running her hands through his black hair that was falling near to his eyes and teased, "Mr. Lion." She poked his nose. Mark took her hand and kissed it, "Your mind wanders far to much, my love." He pulled the covers closer around them so the cold air wouldn't freeze them into icicles. She sighed and put her head on him, "Mmmm, I suppose you're right," Her voice was groggy once again as tiredness kicked in once more. Mark kissed her neck closing his eyes as she began to drift off, "Good night, darling." He burried his head down next to hers and fell asleep himself.

Done.
I'm. Done.
FINALLY!
Why does it ALWAYS take me days to write these things????!!!!
