"You think it's working?"

I peered over my tea cup, the warm steam gracing my face and causing me to close my eyes temporarily as his question ran through my mind. Was it working? Opening my eyes I glanced over my shoulder, only to find the two in question acting as if they didn't know we existed there. I looked back at Dean, his dark brown eyes nearly matching his ebony skin as he looked at me, holding my hand like it meant something. Softly I grinned, hearing their chairs slide. "We'll find out soon enough." He nodded, laying down the payment for our drinks and stood, helping me to my feet. I gathered my books in my hands and we headed towards the door, cutting gently infront of the other couple.

Dean opened the door, the bell ringing softly as the cold air rushed in. My bare fingers turned red nearly immediately but that didn't matter. He smiled at me and I smiled back, he made some comment and I laughed, tossing my head back, long red waves falling over my shoulders with my eyes aglow. As I did so I allowed one of my books fall to the ground behind me, landing on the steps. "Oh, oops." I spoke a loud, with complete innocence as I bent to scoop it up. When I stood, there they were, right infront of me.

"What'd you drop, hun?" Dean asked, slipping up beside me like he'd been miles away. Skillfully he placed his arm about my waist, pulling me into him a bit. "Oh, nothing just my potions book." I gave a small shrug and smiled, looking back at the other couple. Another smile, broader this time, came across my face as I leaned into Dean, linking one hand with his and he kissed my head, close to my ear. As if just truly seeing the other couple there I gave Dean a small nudge in the chest with my hand, laughing and whispering 'stop it' on que. My eyes travelled back to the two, settling on Harry who's arm as around Cho's shoulders. "Well, hello there Harry, I haven't seen you in awhile." His eyes were narrowed a bit but behind them I could see the truth, he was as white as if he'd seen the ghost of Christmas past. Cho was the same, her face blank but a strange fire alight in her eyes. Seeing this made my smile widen and it only grew more when Dean gave my hand a familiar squeeze - our code. He'd seen it too; our plan was working.
